A decisive

year.

This year could be hard for the

students of third year in

Centro Nivela Gloria de Kriete.

This year has been a year with a lot of

decision and with big challenges for

Third Year students of “Centro Nivela,

Fundación Gloria de Kriete” San

Salvador, because they are doing the

vocational process that is during all this

year with the purpose that they will be

able to make a good decision of what they

want to study, what they want to be in the

future.

A lot of people could think that a

vocational process is only to make an

exam and that’s it, but that is wrong

because taking a good decision needs

more than that, it needs a big process like

the one that the Third Year students are

doing since at the beginning of this year.

The students are making activities

assigned by Vocational Counselor: Keny

Marquez and the couch Karina Barquero

who are helping us to change the minds

of the students to make us see the beyond

of an attractive career and also to be

objective to get success.

This process consists in, at first attend to

the interviews to decide about the three

choices of the careers that we think that

are the best ones, next of this the students

have to do several investigations like:

What is about each career?, the costs and

the universities that offer the careers.

Meanwhile the time is going and we are

doing the investigations each student is

having a clear idea of what they want for

their future, not only what is interesting,

instead they considerate more aspects like

labor demand.

Until now, Third year students had visited

the universities sponsored by “Fundación

Gloria de Kriete”, to have more

motivation and they had speech about the

careers.

Weeks ago, they had a “Vocational

Orientation” exam of Universidad José

Simeon Cañas which gave them the areas

in which they have more capacity and

what are the abilities that they have.

Janneth Herrera , student of third year

of Centro Nivela say that: “for me it

seemed pretty good, I think that you are

very well placed to know where you go,

just that sometimes the homeworks are

very complex, but all is well”.

This process is a benefit that they

received for the “Fundacion”, because not

anyone give this gift to all, that is why the

people fail making decisions, that’s why

the students of Centro Nivela Fundación

Gloria de Kriete, San Salvador take

advantage of this because they know that

this is a huge opportunity. Maybe if this

could happen with everybody maybe not

the majority fail in making decision about

their career.

A big

change.

Fundación Gloria de

Kriete performed the

formal launch of

Oportunidades.

This 2013 year, all the students of Centro

Nivela, fundación Gloria de Kriete,

began with a different year because Now

we are OPORTUNIDADES, a great

program that help the students with

desires to overcoming and good scores.

We as students seem all the changes into

the program, we have more opportunities

of study, get a job and be a better person.

Scholarships at the Gloria de Kriete foundation.

Gloria Kriete foundation has a lot

opportunities for everyone and

for that there are three special

scholarships, that give us the

opportunity to travel to another

country.

Javier Blanco

Moisés Guzmán

Brenda Zuleta

he past few years a lot of

students of Gloria Kriete

foundation have travel to the

USA and study there, because in the

foundation there are three special

scholarships for this, and they are

Walton scholarships, Becas semilla,

and Youth ambassadors.

In the first place we have Walton

scholarships, this is a program in

which a student travels to USA and

study in a USA´s University, this

program was founded by Sam Walton

and her wife, Helen Walton, in 1985.

The program gives us a lot of

opportunities because make

successful people for the society, and

train professionals; is like a life

changing program.

Those are some requirements to

apply to this scholarship:

In general, the age that the people

need to apply to this program is

between 17 to 20 years old, the

people have to have finished their

high school; the person must have

low income or medium. Other

important thing is that they need to

have 9.0 in their grades and know

intermediate or advance English.

Becas semilla: is a scholarships

program that has similar

characteristics with Walton

scholarships, but some things change

for example is an agreement with the

USA embassy USAID program and

Georgetown University.

The program (Becas semilla) only

accepts a person with low income and

ages between 18 to 25, have

completed high school, have 8,0 in

GPA the scholarship and no children.

For the selection process the student

need to go through in a lot of

interviews, after that the student has

the last interview and the program

youth ambassadors give his data and

receive the scholarship.

Youth ambassador is a different

program because the person who

wants to apply, have to go through in

a very large process with interviews

and paperwork, because the students

are examined by a coach that take

them in that difficult process.

After out the person passes three

weeks in USA the people in this

program enjoy the opportunity to meet

another person’s and friends in USA

and also do a lot of volunteering

because this is the objective in the

program support to other persons.

Interview with Carlos Lopez, student in USA with Walton scholarship.

1. Actually, which scholarship program are you

in?

Walton International Scholarship Program.

2. What does it call your attention the most to

the scholarship?

What caught my attention is the Walton

Scholarship existing educational offerings at

each university. Regardless of the school you

have attended, each educational program is

innovative and varied. It's a pretty

comprehensive program as it combines many

areas. Also as part of the U.S. educational

system the "core curriculum" aims to equip

students with the knowledge outside of their

race, which for me is important. Other than

that, the scholarship has many other benefits

for the student air travel to their country of

origin, food, lodging, etc... Above all, the

focus is centered universities in Christianity,

something that is very important.

3. What do you think about the atmosphere

among students and the atmosphere in the

university?

The university environment is quite

entertaining. The authorities and various

organizations try to bring the students to have

a sense of "community" among themselves,

reinforcing relationships between all / as.

Also, the environment that exists regarding

religious and ethnic tolerance is quite

acceptable. Teachers / as are willing to help

in any doubt. There are different

organizations and clubs that you can join -

not just academics. Regarding physical

facilities are quite suitable and have enough

resources available.

4. How has been your experience so far in

fellowship program?

I've lived a lot of things since I came to JBU

(John Brown University). From meet

incredible people, many of them great friends

/ as - to expand my horizons and my thinking

about everything that surrounds us, the

"paradigm shift" as we call it. I learned a lot,

academically speaking. I have visited many

beautiful places. I learned more about other

cultures and how it enriches the educational

environment. I improved my English. My

relationship with God has grown. It was an

amazing experience, despite being the first

year.

Page 9: Thinkriete News

5. How was the admission process?

The selection process was as follows: First,

complete the scholarship application where

they ask for your personal information, your

academic record, your medical record, an

essay, etc.. Then, the scholarship committee

evaluates applications and calls the first

round of interviews with candidates who they

believe have the basic Requirements to apply.

I was called for the first interview, which is

given to committee members. It is mostly to

meet you. It was half Spanish and half

English. Then a few weeks passed and I was

called to say she had moved into the second

round of interviews. This second interview

was with the directors of universities who

came to El Salvador and had at the Sheraton

Hotel President. If he was nervous, leaving.

6. Do you have any particular theme or said?

Christ over all, and Head, Heart and Hand.

7. Who were the people that helped you in this

process?

Kenny Márquez, Andrea de Méndez,

Gabriela Sánchez y Juana Jule.

8. Some tips for people who wish to enter this

famous and prestigious scholarship program?

First you set a goal of what they want to

achieve. Working for it, that is, who care

about cover all requirements and be able to

present a good application. And then it all

depends on what he says God in the end. If

you put your effort, I'm sure God will reward

you in some way.

Oportunidades. Oportunidades, A program created by the idea of

changing the reality of El Salvador.

TN.Editorials

l Salvador a really little country, but with

people who know how to take advantage

of the situation, and also a country where

the opportunities are coming and going. So in

order to take advantage of this situation

Oportunidades was created.

Oportunidades was born by the idea of making

leaders in El Salvador by choosing students that

are taking their 8th

grade and giving them the

opportunity to improve themselves in four areas of

the knowledge (Math, Values, Computer and

English).

It started in 2006 and it was created by Kriete´s

Family (with the name of Fundación Gloria de

Kriete).

Nowadays this program has become a really

important factor to the students who want to

improve, who want to take an extra opportunity

and not letting the things happen.

“It´s not your fault born poor, but it Is to die

poor” –Bill Gates

The students, who enter to the process in 8th

grade

and make it successfully, have the opportunity to

study 3 years with specialized teachers from 9th

grade to 2nd

year of Bachelor (General).

They have the great experience to meet other

people with their same feeling of success, to learn

something, to think by themselves, to become

“something” in this country.

The Oportunidades program not only gives them

classes of English, Math, and etc. but food, money

to pay the bus, counseling vocational in order to

study in a university, scholar materials, and etc.

Basically the program is divided in 3 areas, the

first one “Nivela”, this phase consists in the new

knowledge that the students are going to learn and

the process of vocational counseling. At the 3rd

year is when these students are going to enter to

their vocational counseling process, and finally

become people capable to enter to the university,

and that the part when the 2nd

phase enter in action,

known as “Despega”, when they´re studying in

their university that they chose and finally the 3rd

,

known as “Vuela” when they´re ready to become

“something” in this country.

For more information, the counseling vocational is

a process for 3rd

(It starts in 2nd

year but in 3rd

is

when they really decide what to study), they make

investigation about universities sponsored by

Oportunidades (UCA, UJMD, ECMH, ESEN,

UDB, ITCA-FEPADE, UEES), and also about the

careers that these universities give, as for example,

Engineers, Degrees, etc. Also they receive help by

specialized coaches of vocational counseling in

order to choose a career; they also receive more

extra classes in order to pass the exams that the

universities give.

This section also includes opinions about

Oportunidades by the point of view of the students

of 3rd

(2013 Promo).

Oportunidades’s

students life.

By: Anna Rodriguez.

n oportunidades everything is diferent :

the teachers, the classes and the

students, but i want to write about

students.

Oportunidades’s students aren’t so

different to others students, they are

young, they have dreams, and they

sometimes make mistakes.

But there are some characteristics that they

have, for example an Oportunidades’s

student is someone who likes to help

people, someone who always has a

positive attitude, someone who has big

goals and someone who enjoys the life.

Presently in schools or institutes students

are accustomed to live with comfort, so

they don´t look for change or to be

different.

In Oportunidades every student is

different, but every of them have big

abilities that make them big people.

For some of them to be an

Oportunidades’s student it´s difficult, but

it represent something to improve oneself

too, because not everybody can be accept

in Oportunidades, you should have a kind

of intelligence and a good personality or

maybe some important characteristics.

But why can be difficult to be in

Oportunidades? A student of third year

says:

“to be in Oportunidades can be difficult

for me, but if you learn to be organized

and you have a good will to do all the

things, you will do whatever you want”.

Other student of first year says something

interesting about Oportunidades:

“I like Oportunidades because is not like

others places, there you have another

family, your classmates and teachers are

amazing”.

In my opinion I think Oportunidades´s

student are amazing, because they are

different to others, the most important

characteristic that identify them is that

they have values and they put them in

practice everyday and it doesn’t matter

where they are, so every student has to be

like them, but is necessary to know that

we change our way of think when we go

to Oportunidades, so my advice is that we

can do whatever we want we just have to

believe in God and have a good acttitude,

then we can do reality our goals.

People who

learn with us.

aybe when students

hear the word

“teachers” they think

about a person who

teaches you a class about a topic

and assigns you a score at the end

of the semester; a person who

thinks that the information that is

giving is totally true and knows the

unique form of getting a result. But

not all teachers have behaviour like

that; I have known this people who

made in me a change, a team of

teachers who not only teach us but

learn with us.

Oportunidades teachers or “Nivela

Team” are more than simple

teachers, they are really special in

the form they educate. I remember

when a teacher from Nivela told us

in class: “We are here learning with

you, because this process of

apprenticeship never ends”. They

give us the confidence that a

student need to work well. If

somebody asks me what is the

difference between school and the

foundation? , my answer should be

that I feel friendship and a familiar

ambient when I receive my class.

“A class where everybody is

included and an opportunity is

given”. I just want to say thanks’ to

this entire people who helps to

optimize educational system in our

world because education is the

best way to have a good future and

also a good present.

Amanda Pineda.

n April 2nd we knew the results of the candidates winners in the elections for

being part of the new student government of CCGK. The new members of the new

student government are people that the students have chosen by their leadership

qualities, and it was a democratic process in which the students voted for its favorite

candidate. On Friday 5th

the ceremony happened for the power transfer. In this ceremony

the old student government 2012-2013 delivered the positions to the new candidates and in

the same way they swore in them.

The new student government 2013-2014

of CCGK mentioned some strategies that

they have analyzed to gather funds, in

words of the vice-president: “we always

have in mind to obtain more of the

inverted thing, also to economize the

money. We are going to continue doing

the activities that students government of

last years have done since a long time ago.

There are no certain activities but those

who were carried out have the intention

of being of taste to all the students and we

hope that with their participation the

activities should be a success, the only

purpose is to increase the capital, it is

already the only thing earlier spoken”, the

new government wants to do that the

students feel motivated to take part in all

the activities for this year.

The goal of the student government it is

to determine priorities in the expenses,

not to spend in u necessary things and

only spending in what really it is

these governments can change them only, but

for the rest of barriers initiatives have arisen

By means of its alliances, Agora helps the

Forms of saving.

aving is to reserve money for a

future, to keep a part for the

unexpected situations that

might appear, or simply to fulfill some

needs or tastes that we have.

Nevertheless nowadays for many

young people to have this saving

strategy becomes very difficult

because we have many expenses

and money is very little to sustain all

these things, sometimes they forget

that saving will be a benefit in the

future; when we don't practice or we

don't have the habit of save, there

come moments in which there appear

different types of situations in which

the revenue does not manage to

cover these expenses.

There exist forms of saving that have

helped to economize on many

expenses that we might have. In spite

of not take major worries like our

parents have, young people confirm

that exist many other expenses as it

they are: school material, pages of

colors, propelling pencils, photocopies,

impressions, etc. Also passage

expenses in the buses that we use to

transport us towards the school, meal,

and others.

With these small expenses our money

becomes exhausted and at the time

of exits diferentes activities with

friends to the movies, shopping

centers, emergencies, we do not have

absolutely anything to spend. To

avoid these disadvantages there exist

forms of saving for which there

choose some young students of the

CCGK of the Opportunities program:

Do you use any form of saving? What advice would you give us to save money?

“Yes, keeping what I do

not use in the day, for

example: money that i

don't use of the buses,

a cookie that I did not

buy, etc. Also doing like

a list of what I have to

spend every day or

weekly and of this way

be able to eliminate the

possible unnecessary

expenses. To have self-

control, we need to

have a purpose like an

end or intention of this

way we can keep

money and invest in it”

Alisson Góngora, third

year student.

“Well I have a form

(more or less the habit

of saving) my way is to

separate my money of

week with what I know I

have left and some

other currency is left in

the day. Advice: be very

disciplined because it is

not easy, something

that works is to decide

for what save, on my

case books, serves a

target"

Janneth Herrera, third

year student

“You have to wonder

before spending in

something if really you

need it, it is necessary

to determine priorities of

this way you have

clearly in what you are

going to use your

money. Sometimes also

you must have a limited

number so that help us

to control our expenses

every day, and what is

left over, you can keep

and use it only in case

of emergency”

María José

Herrera ,3rdr year

Tips that may help you.

The first thing that it is necessary to

have to begin to save is the desire to

do it and to try to expire with

responsibility, have a money box at

home, propose not to spend much

money, also if you have classes in the

evening and you need to take lunch

not to spend in meal you can cook in

your house and prepare your lunch, to

keep the money that we do not use

during the day, its important take a

target as a goal of our saving, we can

invest this helps us to develop our

interest in the saving and to handle it

of a good way, think before buying

some product, and othersIt is not

easy but it is possible when we raise

a good organization and we do a

compliance of this.

MOS Certification

has been modified.

Katherine Membreño

The Microsoft Office Specialist MOS

certification that third year students do

every year has been modified, according

to the computer’s teacher Jorge Avalos

last week he noticed about it because of

his colleague Jerardo Martinez who is in

charge of certificate the students. Jerardo

told to Jorge that some days ago he went

to Superate to certificate the students and

they noticed that now is not necessary to

activate the track changes button because

of the actualization. Before, this button

was necessary to activate otherwise it

meant points less for the result. Microsoft

Office Specialist every six months is

updated.

This year the way to do the certification

has been changed, other years at the end

of the year third year students do both

certification MOS word and MOS excel,

but this year the third will be different

because in the middle of the year the

students will do MOS Word and at the

end of the year they’ll do MOS Excel.

The teachers think that is a good idea

because the students would have more

time to prepare themselves and get a

better average than the other class.

Which class has gotten the

best MOS average?

Since the class of 2009 until now third

year students have been prepared to get

1000 points in the certification. Every

year the average of every class is getting

better. In the class of 2012 were 15

students who got 1000 points including

the student who got the best time doing

the exam Rolando Serrano who did the

exam in 14 minutes, being this class with

the best average until now.

For class 2013 would be difficult to

overcome this average but not impossible,

also this is a good year and with the

modification and the preparation that they

have been receiving is probably to get a

higher average than other years. But are

you ready? Who is going to get 1000

points in both certification and have the

best time? Is going to be you?

Why Oportunidades decides to put

For some years ago Oportunidades decides to change the old server for the new MultiPoint Server,

but, why they decided that? It’s a better way to improve in the education? Well here it is the

interview that we make to Luis Flore (Computers teacher) and here are his answers.

Why they decide to put in

practice the Multipoint?

R//For the economical cost of maintenance has

for ten computer than for one, also they

wanted to exploit the use of the computers for

a better quality of education.

Why it just has been installed in

the CC2?

R// because we are juts in a probe period to see

if it is functional have acquired this kind of

platform.

Have you thought about using it

in the CC1?

R//Yes, we thought about that and we hope to

include in the costs of the program next year.

What are the disadvantages of

the server?

R//If the main CPU ruined the others ten

computers that are connected will be ruined too,

because internet connection stats in the main

CPU and it divides to go to the others users.

Also we depend of a single unit of data storage

center.

Would you recommend it?

R// Yes, I will, but with another brand and also

another operating system.

How often do you give to the

computer equipment

maintenance?

R// every three months both computer centers.

How does technology help us?

Jessica Salazar

Many people in our country is not interested about technology, a reason could be the lack of

information but nowadays Technology is one of the most important tools in our life. Well here

it is the interview that we make to Jacqueline López, (alumni CCGK) here we have her

answers:

How has “Programa Oportunidades” helped you with your way of

thinking about technology?

I have improved my knowledge because technology is a different way of finding

solutions to the problems of human beings! Applying it to different areas.

If you could describe technology education that the foundation gave

you, what rating would you give? And Why?

I think I will give a 9 because we develop our potential in different areas of our

training, using different ways to acquire knowledge and innovating by globalization

which we live right now, technology is embedded in our lives, in each of the actions we

take and each of the objects we use, the ways in which we carry out the activities of

daily life.

What benefits you got through technology?

The benefits are the simplification of the processes in the activities we do in everyday

life by creating new needs in humans

Do you think that know about technology is important? Why?

Actually, is very important to know about the technology since it is something that we live

day to day.

A Little time for writing

poems. Jose Otmaro

WE IN OPORTUNIDADES ALSO WRITE POEMS.

We migth think that we just have time for studying but that is

not true. Just by walking in the corridor in oportunidades at

break, we can notice that there are students that not just study,

but express their ideas with art.Writing poems is an art, we can

express what we feel. what we think. Maybe we are angry or

upset about something so we can write this feeling in an artistic

lenguage, Also if we are happy we can express it to others by

writing a poem. Some stundents in oportunidades love to write

poems, because they feel good doing it, they think someone is

hearing them, they think writing poems is one of the best ways

to scream to the wolrd without making any sound but the sound

of a pencil moving. But. Is it easy? Do we have to think a lot

when we are writing a poem? Do we have to follow some

rules? These are very important questions, because most of the

people does not write poems because they never try it before,

or because they think it is very difficult.. Here I will show you

some steps in order to write a poem. As you will see it is not

dificult and it can become really enteresting for you.

HOW TO WRITE A POEM.

First of all, we are not writing a normal poem, with this i mean

we are not going to make any rhyme, we are gonig to write a

poem in free verse. This is much better than the normal poems,

because it is easy and more expresive.

For staring to make a poem you just need.

Some time alone.

Some paper.

Something for writing.

An opened mind

According to Write–out–loud.com for writing a poem we need

first an idea, because it will determinate the topic of the poem.

To make the desitinon easier on a fresh sheet of paper begin a

brainstorm. Put the trigger for the poem in the middle. This is the

name of the person or event you want to write about.

Now without editing yourself quickly jot down as much as you

can. You do not have to write full sentences. You do not have to

spell correctly. Your job at this stage is to note down everything

that springs to your mind.

It might be a color. It could be a sound, a piece of music, a way

of smiling, a habitual phrase they used to say, a piece of clothing,

the way they walked or talked...It is whatever comes to you.

Think of your senses, sight, sound, smell, feeling and taste. What

you want is vivid representations for each. The more direct and

specific the more evocative they will be.

Give every new or fresh idea its own space on the paper. You'll

end up with a sun-burst pattern, your trigger (subject) in the

center surrounded by raying chunks of words.

Here we have an example of the same web page, write-out-

loud.com whit a poem.

MY FATHER

CCGK most common pastimes. Josias Jimenez

Why is a hobby important in our life?

A hobby is an activity we really enjoy when

we do it. Also it helps us to avoid some

illnesses such as: stress, loneliness, sedentary

lifestyle, isolation and so on. A hobby puts

your mind in another world where you do not

feel the time going by, something really

different of a daily routine.

Something really important to mention is that

a hobby is not leisure as some other people

think, because you have a hobby to clear your

mind, and feel something you do not feel very

often. The hobby does not have to annoy

other people.

In the Foundation there are a lot of students

who are hardworking, because they study all

day, some friends of them think they do not

have social life, because they study a lot;

therefore we found it out to demonstrate them

this is not true, because each one of them

Drawer’s Drawings… Rodrigo Romero

mazings drawings are considered

part of art and also

entertainment, most of pictures

are for showing in a gallery,

maybe, or just for enjoying an incredible

inspiration. Either way is awesome see

what a couple of technics can do and

what it shows us.

And for proving it I have found some

drawer’s drawings at CCGK and I have

some of them, the one which is made by

pencil and colors was drown by Josías

David Jimenez Aldana an student from

third year section A-4 it’s one of his best

and if you’ve seen Dragon ball Z you

know what I’m talking about. The other

one is a little bit daring and it is about an

anime girl cat, this one is just drawn by

pencil and the same guy drew it too. And

the last one which it seems really great, it

is a non-color rose which has a

tridimensional effect which makes it

seem attractive and also if you want to

give a compliment to somebody all of the

drawings that I had the placer to show

you, were published by authorization of

the owners, in fact each drawing has its

signature and it is on the drawings.

And that’s what the painters, drawers

and artist should do, make their pictures,

sculptures or the art itself an attraction.

hat an art and discipline the

drawing is, because everything

has its difficulty and she is

another prove, her name

is Maria Jose Herrera an

incredible drawer girl,

student from third year,

section A-3. This girl has

an interesting technique

which is kind of hard

because what she uses to

do is just draw with pencil

and she thinks that

there’s a variety of pencils;

ones are just for making lines, others are for

giving darkness and profundity and others

are for shading the drawing. Well either

technique or no the results are here just take

a look at this.

So the first two are colored but they are

drawing and the rest of them are drawings

too. Nevertheless not everything is drawing

drawings no way, here’s

another creation of this

girl and it talks about

your own art because

she gave us an art

definition which is that

you define what art is,

right?, it could be using

a pencil, a pen, paints,

paper, in fact all of

those things and so on.

We are sure that the art is part of Maria Jose

and I realized that art is Maria Jose’s

business.

Is it harmful to eat in

front of the computer?

Norma Rosa

Many people have the habit to eat in front of

the computer perhaps because they can not

stop to work or they are watching a movie or

they are just doing something important, but

they do not know that that could be the reason

of diseases like overweight, infections and

ulcers or “gastritis”.

According to “La Universidad de la Ecología

Humana” in Ukraine the magnetic Field of the

screen is able to change the molecular

structure of the water and food. Making them

Curiosities about our health A person blinks about 25,000 times a day, incredible right? But if you try to stay without blinking for one minute feel your eyes start to burn.

The heart pumps 80 ml. is blood per second. (Could fill a tank of 7,000 liters in a day). That shows that we have a perfect machine inside of us.

When a person reaches age 70, your heart will beat at least a million times 2.800.

Did you know that cancer cells occur 6 or up to 10 times in a person's life? But if your immune system is well this will destroy them.

“La

Cherada.“ Josue Miranda

Is a team soccer that was founded on July 11, 2011. For the Gloria Kriete´s tournament. With the

name "cherada", because the Salvadorean people called friends, "cheros", and we are friends that

play and love soccer. we played for the first time when we were in first year, during that time, the

team consisted of: Aaron Barrera C4 (Captian), Carlos Campos C4, Diego Díaz C4, Raúl León C4,

Rodrigo Vaquero C5, Wilsón Carranza C4, Javier Blanco C5, Jonathan Alvarenga C3, Iván

Rodriguez C5, Kevin Galdamez C5, Josué Miranda C5 and Andrés Castros (teacher), but he never

went to any match for personal problems. We were the most popular team of the first year, because

almost we beat a team of third year, because the students of third year did cheat the first match after

that match we won all the games, and we went to semifinals, we played versus blackbulls, a third

year's team and the regular times (30 minutes for each time) we tied, but we lost at penalties, 2 to 1.

And we also played to obtain the third place, which also turned into a loss due to the lack of players

we had, they were busy studing for the toeic.

But, the last tournament on

2012, we continue with the

idea of win, we had never

had 2 teachers played with

us, Orlando Ávalos and

José Manuel Garcia, and

more students from second

years. Juan Carlos Aguilar,

Eduardo Antonio, Eduardo

Martinez, Ervin Mejía,

Kevin Ortiz. They joined

the Cherada team. Our

captian was Josué Miranda.

that year was our, because

we won 7 games, and only

lost 1, and we lost that

game, because the referee

was a father of a player, and the referee accepted a goal that was not valid, he also marked fouls that

were not made. We went to final and we played versus a team of first year. Thank God won the

final, with a amazing goal made by Wilson Carranza at the 20 minutes of the second half.

We interview a student from first year, with the objetive to know what the students from first year

expect about the tournament.

His name is Rodrigo Alejandro Velazquez Vaquero; he is little brother of a member of the Cherada

What have you heard about the tournament?

Through soccer we can spend time with a friends and we can learn

about values.

What do you expect from the tournament?

Meet more friends, and relate to my opponents

What do you imagine the tournament?

a fast tournament

What do you expect about your team?

Win the tournament wit them or win the second place with them.

What do you think about yours opponents?

More stonger than me, or more taller than me.

Fight and win.

Carlos Campos

To win we need fight, but not just fight we've

to fight hard, in the sports is not the

difference. Here in the CCGK we have a clear

example of this, LA CHERADA F.C has

participated two times in the CCGK's football

tournament (2011-2012), and in the second

time this time won the first place.

In the first time LA CHERADA F.C

participated in the CCGK's football

tournament was in the year 2011, this team

was conformer by students from the First year

afternoon of the class 2013 of the sections C-

4 and C-5, their captain was Aaron Barrera,

and the team had 15 players one of them was

the Teacher Andrés Castro, who couldn’t go

to the matches because he had problems with

the schedule of his job and the matches hour.

The beginning of the tournament wasn't easy

but they could get good scores in the pass of

the matches, they could get until the

semifinals although they had some problems

like some players couldn't go until the field,

nobody understood a move or they was really

tired in the middle of the match and the most

important sometimes they didn't play as a

team as a result they lost; the next match was

for playing third place but they lost because

they just was five players of the team and

they finished in the fourth place.

The second time they had won experience

and they knew them as a team and as people,

they changed the captain being Josue

Miranda and they had to change some players

because they couldn't be in LA CHERADA

F.C anymore for different reasons; the team

got new players, who were: Eduardo

Hernandez (B-5), Juan Carlos Aguilar (B-3),

Eduardo Martinez (B-5), Kevin Ortiz (B-3)

and new teachers as: Jose Manuel Garcia and

Orlando Avalos.

In this season they had the best scores, they

only lost one match, and they got play the

final against the Raccoons FC (team of third

year students) this was a decisive match but

LA CHERADA FC could make a good game

and at the end they won with a score of 1 to 0,

the goal was made by Wilson Carranza (LA

CHERADA FC) in the second part of the

match; at the end of the match the team

celebrated the victory with a prayer as a

custom of the team doing it and the beginning

at the end of each match.

In the awards ceremony LA CHERADA FC

had a special recognition for each player, a

medal, and they were presented as the

football tournament 2012's champs in front of

all the CCGK's students.

WILSON CARRANZA PLAYING

TENNIS

La Cherada F.C is on

vacations after they

won the

championship.

Alan Barrera

[email protected]

since november 25th 2012 we

havent seen Wilson Carranza in

a soccer field, as we all

remember that day was an

important day for him and the

team, that day was the final of

the (CCGK) tournament 2012

and they were waiting for that

opportunity to became the new champ from CCGK. Last weekend we had the opportunity to have

an interview with him, he was having a great time with his family at Royal Decameron Resort and

as we can see at the picture he was also playing tennis, once again he show us his humility and he

gave us the interview.

¿How did you liked the tournament last

year?

I think it was a great tournament and the

only thing I didnt like was when we played

two games in a day and also the tournament

was to short.

¿What new things do you expect for this

new tournament?

I expect the tournament could be longer and

to not have problems with the field.

¿How do you feel in the team?

I feel good, I enjoy sharing time with my

team mates because I have a great

relationship in and out of the field.

¿What didnt you like of being in the team?

Its not that I didnt like it but sometimes we

had some problems but the good things of

that was that we all sat down and we talk

LUIS NAJARRO IS THE NEW PLAYER FROM

LA CHERADA F.C.

Alan Aaron Barrera Canizalez

[email protected]

He is a values techacer at CCGK but he likes to play socer, yestarday he was having a conversation with people that

are closed to La cherda F.C. and he was saying that he had came to the team because of an invitation that son

students did to him also he said " I liked not only the fact that The Cherada is the cham for the moment, but also the

commitment and enthusiasm of its players perceive also encourages me the responsibility that comes with defending

the championship, because I like challenges.” So after seeing those comments we can say that La Charada F.C. is

coming with all their strength to win the championship again.

about them and at the end we always could handle them.

Now that Ivan Rodriguez your goalkeeper its not with the team anymore, ¿what do you think

your coach is going to do?

First of all we are still sad because he is not anymore in our team but I think we have the people to

put our head up and keep going and the first thing that my coach is going to do is to put Aaron

Barrea as our new goalkeeper and put in the team some new players as Josias Jimenez and our

teacher Luis Najarro.

we all know that in a soccer team there's is always a captain and a sub captain, and we also

know that if they have been choosen to be that if because of something. ¿What was the attitude

of those two inside the field? ¿How did that help the team?

Well their attitude was great and I think the helped a lot the team, because they were always

thinking in the best for us and also they always asked us if we liked what they were thinking.
