They affect our mood, health and overall well being. With evolvements in technology and studies of biology, we are able to understand how to treat certain illnesses, diseases and such and with this science, how to design spaces that accommodate for therapeutic treatments and healing. The physiological impact plays a significant role in understanding how exposures to light, air, sound, temperature, humidity, water, and atmospheric impacts are essential components of the wellness centre ideation. The inspiration for this wellness centre is based on the natural environment experi- ence that comes from destination locations such as the Blue Lagoon in Iceland as well as healing practices promoting health within the intertwined relationship between the body, mind and environment. The idea is to take this destination ideal and implement it in an urban environment, in this case Toronto, where there are many natural spaces that embrace the outdoor environments and promote active living. The body of research includes biological, technical, environmental and theoretical components to sum up the intent and significance of well being in a holistic sense. The purpose means to present spaces that have an impact on a person, that stimulate a personal journey of healing, are comfortable, encouraging, and enriching. Health, in this case, understands our spiritual, emotional, mental and physical needs for our well being and finding a balance to improve a person’s overall quality of life. The ultimate goal, and perhaps challenge, is finding this idea within you, which has been the aspiration for this Wellness Centre.

Our physical surroundings prove to be an important part of our everyday lives. The inspiration for this wellness centre is based on the natural environment experi-ence that comes from destination locations such as the Blue Lagoon in Iceland as well as healing practices promoting health within the intertwined relationship between the body, mind and environment.
