Why use Thermo-Brace S.I.B.?
What isThermo-Brace S.I.B.?
Thermo-Brace S.I.B. has superior strength to OSB, a WRB,and insulation in one solution.
Unlike polyiso and XPS, Neopor GPS doesn’t use HFC gas agents for R-value, which can deplete over time. XPS only retains 90% of it’s initial R-value over its lifetime and the R-value of Neopor GPS is up to 30% higher than EPS (white foam).
• Neopor GPS is GREENGUARD certified for Gold Indoor Air Quality • Complies with the energy code using 2ʺx4ʺ conventional framing instead of 2ʺx6ʺ • Can be installed with the foam side facing in or out, the WRB is on both sides. • Reduces thermal bridging • Stable pricing • Lightweight
• Structural Insulative Board • Complies with the 2012, 2015, and 2018 International Energy Codes for continuous insulative sheathing • Available in R-3 or R-5 thickness • Excellent long-term thermal resistance (LTTR) • WRB on both sides • Mold resistant
Exclusively using BASF Neopor® GPS (Graphite Polystyrene) rigid foam in conjunction with Barricade® Thermo-Brace™, Thermo-Brace S.I.B. is todays energy-efficient and cost-effective insulation solution for architects, contractors, and builders.

Installation
For use as a WRB noted in IRC section R703.2 and IBC section 1404.2, use Barricade Extreme™ or Barricade Seam Tape on joints and seams.
Fasteners fit standard 1” wide-crown staple guns.
Thermo-Brace S.I.B. can be installed with foam inside or out, and the fastener schedule is printed on both sides.
DO NOT overdrive fasteners.
Starting at the top left of the panel, begin fastening from top to bottom, referring to the fastener schedule on the front side of the panel for proper fastener spacing.
Moving across the panel, attach fasteners at the top and bottom of the panel until you reach the next stud (it is important when using staples to fasten them in a parallel direction to the stud).
Fasten panel in numerical order repeating the procedure described in steps 1 and 2.
Continue until the Thermo-Brace S.I.B. panel is properly secured to the frame.
