Our highly-skilled recreational therapists take a person-centered approach to life enrichment programming at Clark. LIFE AT CLARK IS FUN

Before Clark, I’d come home at night and be by myself. I didn’t like

living alone. Here, I have my own space, and there are people

around to talk to and do things with whenever I want. It’s home.

Clark was founded in 1906 as a home for retired Methodist ministers. Over the years, we’ve grown and evolved, but delivering compassionate care to our residents remains core to who we are.

Today, Clark is an ecumenical community, welcoming people from

INNOVATION IN MEMORY CAREIn addition to our assisted living services, our team is especially skilled in supporting residents with dementia. Our community is home to special residences dedicated to memory care.

Montessori for Aging and Dementia Clark was the first life plan community in the United States to adopt the Montessori for Aging and Dementia program. This approach, led by certified Montessori practitioners, empowers residents with memory loss to be independent and lead purposeful lives by creating:

• Meaningful roles and routines

• Activities for each person based on their history and interests

• A safe and secure environment filled with memory cues and supports

ASSISTED LIVING OPTIONS

Music TherapyFor people with dementia, the part of the brain for speech is different than the part processing music. This is why those who can no longer converse or have memory impairment are able to sing a song from beginning to end.

Our music therapy program, led by certified music therapists, provides not only therapeutic value, but comfort and happiness to those with memory impairment. We also offer IN2L (It’s Never Too Late) which allows residents to musically reminisce through computer technology.

Memory care is provided at both Clark communities.

SKILLED NURSINGWhen higher-level medical services are needed, our team of experts is here to provide compassionate care around the clock. Our skilled nursing area is designed around a neighborhood concept. At the center of each neighborhood is an area where residents can gather for activities, dining, and special events. All beds in this area are Medicare and Medicaid certified.
