intervention area

place of interest

reference axis

_ established at selected places of the area creating small poles into the neigh-bourhood_ redefining the relationship between the sides of the road creating free public space _ reclaiming the existig dyamic_ giving directions about re-using the potential dynamic_ enforcing citizens to manage public space and familiarize with the area

Small-scale interventions are defined by an overall typology which gives them the charac-teristic to be recognised at the neighbourhood as one union creating a network. The desing typology is modulated by a conceivable “square” which is placed at several parts of the area reclaiming each time a different dynamic.

Main characteristics of the intervention_ square type

_ creating network connecting main parts of the neihbourhood_ interventing at axis with important role without chang-ing the main character of them_ giving certain importance at the fronts of the axis_ redefining the role of the streets as public spaces_ redefining the meaning of circulation and facing each kind of ciculation differently

The logic of small-scale in-terventions creating poles at the overall of the neighbour-hood is completed by the con-nections either with each other or with the main center of the Square. The interven-tions that follow the typology of the “line” are constituted by linear actions.

Main characteristics of the intervention_ line type

small-scale interventions located into the two cir-cles of residence and culture - cooperating with the two axis of Leukosias St and Knossou St around the

main center-circle of St Andreas Square
