The 2010 census shows that the education status for men and women in Country A is similar, with the exception of those that have never been to school. Overall, 12% of women have never been to school, whereas for men, this figure is only 9%.

Break this data down by age group and the gender gaps are more apparent. For those at current school age (6-14), there are more boys than girls that have never been to school. For the older generations, it is girls and women who have more often missed out on an education.
