On Friday, 6 October, Juniors4Jesus

and Friday Nite Live combined to

bake biscuits for the upcoming

Kairos Weekend @ Leeuwkop

Maximum Security Prison. It was

fun, but hard (and messy) work. At

the final count, 700 biscuits had

been baked! Well done

everyone...someone will be blessed

by eating the biscuits you baked.

The Kairos weekend starts

tomorrow and runs until Sunday,

please commit this ministry to your

prayers. 10 MPC members are part

of this team, with Hannes Grobler

leading the whole weekend.

CHATTERBOX TURNS 26! At their meeting on Wednesday, 11 October, the

Chatterbox Handcraft Group celebrated their 26th

Birthday...that makes Chatterbox the longest running

ministry @ MPC. Over the years members have

knitted 1000’s of blankets that have been donated to

organizations that help improve the lives of people in

our community. Thank you ladies for faithfully using

your talents to bless others. If you love knitting and

chatting and tea and cake, why not come along to

Chatterbox (meetings are on the 2nd and 4th

Wednesday of the month @ 10am in Ministry House).

BOOK 10

2 SAMUEL—Saul

A Walk Through The Bible

Now there are two “sand mules”, so this must be the book of

2 Samuel! And we have a king who has a harp, a slingshot,

and a whole heart for God. That’s David—and his name is

the Keyword for the book. The life story of King David—

whom God called “ a man after mine own heart” (Acts 13:22)

- unfolds in 2 Samuel. Following the death of Saul, David

rules first over Judah, and then over a united Israel, for a total

of 40 years. He follows God with a whole heart and becomes

Israel’s greatest king. David’s political and military victories

bring Israel to a place of world prominence. But the secret

sins of his personal life ultimately cause his downfall. A

lustful look at beautiful Bathsheba leads to adultery and

murder, then to insurrection, civil war and unrest. A Walk
