The brothers had an alarm installed after the first burglary. “It is a huge inconvenience and a certain innocence is lost.” David agrees with his brother and said they moved to Caledon ten years ago and the sanctuary he has created has become inviolate. “It is a shame these people came and broke my peace. But they were slick. If only they could put the same effort into doing a proper job.” Manny Andrade, another resident of Human Road, says he struggles to sleep at night since their burglary early in February. Items were stolen from his garage. Andrade says the open piece of land between the N2 and Prins Alfred and Human Roads should be fenced off, to restrict ac- cess. “Closing this off will act as a de- terrent and will not offer an easy es- cape route to criminals. There have been 15 burglaries since December,” says Andrade. Manie Theron from Caledon Secu- rity said on Sunday morning at 03:20 he apprehended a burglar in Demper Road. “We suspect this person is in- volved in many of the housebreak- ings in the area.” Theron urges resi- dents to take the necessary security measures to safeguard themselves against perpetrators. “Over the past three months there has been a marked increase in suspicious activ- ity in town.” Andrew Buck from Trust Security said security should be a priority. “We’ve experienced no increase in housebreaking during the past month. We want to warn residents however to be vigilant and alert and not to open the door to strangers.” Capt. Botes confirmed that there were 16 housebreakings during Feb- ruary. He urges residents to be on the lookout for suspicious vehicles and people. He says they will continue with awareness campaigns throughout the Theewaterskloof region in an on- going effort to curb crime. ANNETTE THERON “These are professionals. And I suspect they are the same people.” So says Johno du Plessis, a resi- dent of Human Road who is one of many who suffered housebreakings recently. The Gazette reported about the increase in housebreakings last week and Capt.

Hierdie ervarings is kumula-

Niemand weet hoe elektriese skok-terapie

ontdek is nie.

As

. .– [email protected]
