11th Annual Youth Theatre Workshop Instructors Amanda Allen (Choreographer/Producer) is excited because it is
her favorite time of the year—especially after having a com-
pletely different Youth Theatre Workshop in 2020. This summer she
gets to spend two weeks with some amazingly talented little per-
formers and a fun and talented crew!! She is one of the founders
of the Youth Theatre Workshop helping to get things started with
a one day workshop back in 2009!! She is taking a break this year
from being on the TCS Board, but she’ always still involved. Favor-
ite roles include Pennywise (Urinetown), Sister Mary Hubert
(Nunsense), Glinda (Wizard of Oz), Animal Ensemble (A Year With
Frog and Toad) for which she was nominated for a DASH award,
Jack's Mother (Into the Woods) and Ethel Toffelmeir (Music Man).
Amanda was also nominated for her makeup design for both Into
the Woods and Music Man. In her “spare time”, Amanda has a
specialty craft company CreAtive CreAtions where her motto is
“If you can think it, I can create it!” Amanda could not do what
she does without the support of her family and friends, to whom
she sends out a hearty thanks!! Thank you's are also in order for
the wonderful creative team and especially the student interns!!
All our interns are first time interns this summer—though many

have been part of YTW for numerous years. "We hope you all en-
joying being part of our (theatre) world.”
Ben Tan (Music Director) hails from Wakefield. Previous music di-
rector credits include The Secret Garden (Stage 284), Frozen Jr.,
James and the Giant Peach (both at Middlesex School Summer
Arts), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Theatre Com-
pany Saugus), Shrek, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor
Dreamcoat, Young Frankenstein (all at Alexander Children’s The-
atre School), Grease (Babson Players), Spelling Bee (Emerson Col-
lege Musical Theatre Society), Dear Edwina and You’re A Good
Man Charlie Brown (both Kidding Around at Emerson College).
He is currently serving as the music director for Into the Woods
(True Repertory). Ben earned his M.M.Ed. from Boston Conserva-
tory and will start a new adventure as a music and chorus teach-
er at the Mario Umana Academy in Boston.
Sean Perry (Acting Instructor/Director) joins the TCS Youth Theatre
Workshop for his third summer. Previously he has appeared with
TCS in Heathers, Urinetown, Lost in Yonkers, the original musical
Jack the Ripper, and the DASH nominated spring 2018 produc-
tion of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. In addition,
he currently sits on the TCS Board. He greatly enjoys theater and
can often be seen singing showtunes throughout his day. He di-
rects the Stoneham High School drama club and invites you to
keep an eye open for their performances throughout the year.
Sean spends his days teaching history to unenthused middle
school students, he couldn't be happier! He would like to thank
his beautiful girlfriend Jilliana and his family and friends for their
support. Enjoy the performance!

The Theatre Company of Saugus
The Theatre Company of Saugus (TCS) was founded in 1968. Through
volunteer work, this company has been running strong for 50 wonderful
seasons! TCS produces at least four shows per season, and has been
very successful in running summer workshops, fundraisers, and special
events to promote education in theatre for adults and children of all ag-
es. The Theatre Company of Saugus always welcomes new members.
You do not need to be an actor or actress to become a member! In ad-
dition to being onstage, members can help behind the scenes, either
with lights and sound or ticket sales. If you have questions, comments, or
want more information, please speak to any of our staff during the inter-
mission or after the show or …
