The Wright Brothers:First in Flight
Names: Wilbur and Orville Wright
Wilbur was born in 1867 in Indiana. Orville was born in Ohio in 1871.
The brothers loved to invent things! They liked to build kites and play with helicopter toys.
The Wright brothers invented the airplane.
Orville made the first flight at Kitty Hawk North Carolina on December 14, 1903.
Orville Wright’s birthday is 19th August, which is National Aviation Day.
The state motto of North Carolina is “First in Flight” thanks to the Wright brothers!
The original Wright plane can be seen in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum!
