HELL’S KITCHEN FARM PROJECT
Help Water the Farm HKFP is in need of volunteers to water the farm on Sundays before or after worship. If you are interested in helping out, contact Joe at [email protected]. Farm Workdays (Thursdays & Saturdays) Farm volunteers are needed on the roof (no experience necessary) Thursdays & Saturdays 10:00-1:00. No need to RSVP before.
Youth Internship Opportunities HKFP is launch it first youth farm intern program for local high school students. Students will get hands-on urban agriculture experiences, while engaging in food justice conversations and advocacy. Program runs July 27-August 20 (Wed-Sat only). Applications due by June 10. Teen Center Spaghetti Lunch – Save the Date Join us at 12:15 on July 10 for a Spaghetti Lunch fundraiser to help our teenCENTER go to camp. The cost is $10 per person. Gluten free and vegetarian options will be available.
Pentecost Mission Offering
During this Pentecost season, we will be receiving a special missions offering to support the global ministries of our denominational partners: the Alliance of Baptists, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Baptist Fellowship of the Northeast. Envelopes are available in the entryway and welcome bins. Please prayerfully consider how you might give beyond your regular general offering.
Welcome, Andrew Gardner
Andrew Gardner will be here for the month of June helping out with Urban Immersion. He served as summer staff for Clue Camp back in 2013, and is currently working on a PhD at Florida State University.
Welcome, summer intern Soremi Lockhart
Hey there! My name is Soremi Lockhart and I was born in Manhattan, NY. I am currently an undergraduate student at Manhattan College, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. This summer I have the wonderful privilege of working with Metro under the Summers Communities of Service program through United Church of Christ. I look forward to working with the Metro team to make sure
that the children participating in CLUE Camp this summer have the best time with tons of fun!
Welcome, summer intern Holly Perkins
Holly Perkins is from Jackson, MS and attends Mississippi State University. She is majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Social Work, Sociology and Health Development. Holly currently works at a private high school as a Special Education Teacher and After School Program Coordinator. She is excited to become a part of Metro Baptist Church/RMM’s diverse community.
