GATHER IN GOD’S NAME___________________________ Prelude
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Welcome Guests and Visitors - Please sign a blue Connection Card
Call to Worship Psalm 34:1-3
Prayer of Adoration
GIVE PRAISE AND THANKS TO GOD_________________ *Hymn of Praise #77 “I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer Art” Deacons will collect prayer requests
*Prayer of Confession
Jesus our healer, you give sight to the blind. We close our
eyes to those who are different from us: at school, at work, at the
store, at the playground. We close our eyes to those who worship
you differently from us: through music, through prayers,
through preaching. Open our eyes, Lord Christ. Heal and forgive
us. Empower us in your Spirit to reach out to those who are
different, and learn how they see you in the world. Amen.
*Assurance of God’s Forgiveness
*Congregational Response Hymn #734
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy
Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen, Amen.
Time with the Children
Anthem
Joys and Concerns
Prayers of the People & the Lord’s Prayer
…Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom
come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead
us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Offering our Gifts to God
Offertory *Doxology Hymn # 34
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heavenly host:
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.
*Prayer of Dedication
*Hymn #502 “Be Thou My Vision”
GOD’S WORD READ AND PROCLAIMED______________
Scripture Mark 10: 46-52 (p. 1014)
Sermon “Don’t Forget the Blind”
*Affirmation of Faith “The Apostles’ Creed”
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven
and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who
was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was
buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose
again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand
of the Father, and he will come again to judge the living and
the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the
communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection
of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
GO IN GOD’S NAME_________________________________ *Hymn #422 “Amazing Grace!”
*Benediction
*Postlude
*All are invited to stand
