Aims:

• To promote excellence in European integration studies in higher education

Main activities:

• Teaching and research (Chairs, Modules & Centres of excellence)

• Policy debate with academic world and exchanges (networks and projects)

• Support to institutions or associations activities

• The creation of a Jean Monnet label

• Jean Monnet also provides operating grants to specified institutions

• Support for collaborative partnerships (small and bigger)

• Non-profit European sport events, involving several countries, relating to social inclusion, HEPA, etc.

• Strengthening the evidence base for policy making

• Mobility activities for learners and staff under KA1

– Close to 31,500 participants with education background in thefields of travel, tourism and leisure have experiencedtransnational mobility activities;

– 9 out of 10 participants are HE students and VET apprentices;

– Average age is 22 years

– Top 5 sending countries: NL, ES, PL, IT and DE;

– Top 5 receiving countries: ES, UK, IT, DE and FR;

• Projects directly/indirectly related to silver tourism under KA2

1. "ELEVATOR - Efficient movement to the higher quality staff and services in tourism for all"

– 4 participating countries: CZ, IT, BE and SI;

– The project focuses on adult education and business development in the field of accessible tourism for all;

– Its aim → exchange good practices in adult education for accessible tourism, as well as develop and disseminate innovative intellectual outputs

– Potential long - term benefits: more accessible tourist destinations and facilities, extended tourism offer and higher involvement of disabled people and seniors in travelling.

2. "ALLTOURIST - Consolidación de una competencia transversal, en turismo social, a nivel Europeo"

– 5 Partners from 4 countries: ES, IT, EE and BE;

– The project addresses students/apprentices, organisations from 36 countries of 3 continents, EU administrations, public and private entities;

– Destinations and innovative tourism products that need to be seasonally adjusted;

– Families, groups in social exclusion, seniors, people with disabilities.

3. "GROWING THE MARKET IN ACCESSIBLE TOURISM"

– 9 Partners from 6 countries: ES, EL, BE, SI, UK, FI;

– Accessible tourism is about making it easy for all people to enjoy tourism experiences;

– Older and less mobile people or people with pushchairs have access needs;

– COSME programme (Competitiveness of Enterprises and SMEs) recently called for proposals to facilitate transnational tourism for seniors in low season, recognising the substantial market available;

– This project will deliver accessibility as a new opportunity for the tourism market, creating a modular course using innovative methods.
