WelcomeConrad LeeCity of Bellevue MayorWelcome to the City of Bellevue. Bellevue is fortunate to be part of one of the most beautiful regions in the entire country. We, like many local communities, are also rich in growing diversity. Bellevue has the largest percentage of foreign-born residents of any city in Washington and currently, almost one in three residents is foreign-born. More than 80 different languages are spoken in the Bellevue School District, with 30 percent of students speaking a first language other than English. More than 22 percent of our children receive free or reduced-price meals. For the sixth consecutive year, the city has been recognized by America’s Promise as one of the top 100 communities for young people in the nation. Since the early 90’s, the City of Bellevue and the Bellevue School District have officially partnered “to meet the educational, recreational, cultural, social, health, and human service needs of the community by focusing on schools as community resource centers.” It will take the efforts of all us to ensure our children’s success. We are honored that you are here today to help our region’s children by working together and preparing students for a bright future. Thank you.
