Next Friday, 27th March, it will be 5/6M’s assembly and we will continue with their assembly, making it

digitally available to watch through technology. This is still being investigated, however, not yet confirmed

but at the moment we think Facebook Live might be the best method to use. Look out for this exciting news

over the coming days!

This Week’s PBL Focus….

SPECIAL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES

Special Religious Education (SRE) classes for 2020 commenced on Monday 2nd March. These classes will run

between 2:00pm and 3:00pm.

This year we have Anglican, Catholic and Islamic classes available. Children will remain in the Religious

Group that parents have previously nominated. Kindergarten students should return their permission slips to

the office to participate in Special Religious Education Classes.

As of 19th September Anglican classes have been suspended until further notice.

CRUNCH N SIP

The Crunch N Sip program is a highly successful initiative to encourage the children to

improve their daily intake of fresh fruit and vegetables and to drink plenty of water. You

can support this initiative by making sure that your child has their “Fruit Break“ snack

every day and an extra bottle of water to have available in the classroom.

NO HAT- PLAY IN THE SHADE

Does your child remember to bring their hat to school every day? Families are

reminded that children need to have a hat to play in the playground with their friends.

Children who do not have a hat are required to play quietly under the shelter.

MESSAGE FROM THE COMMONWEALTH BANK REGARDING SCHOOL BANKING

“The health, safety and wellbeing of our communities and our people is our first priority. Due

to the rapidly developing situation with coronavirus, School Banking has been temporarily

paused from 20 March 2020 until the start of Term 2. Please don’t bring your deposit book

with your weekly banking into school and we will notify you when banking will

recommence.”

Community News Week 8 already and some big changes have occurred across our community. Here is a snapshot of the big

events of the last two weeks and some important information about the coronavirus and our school

response.

ADVICE FOR OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY The NSW Department of Education has introduced proactive measures

to limit the impact of COVID-19 in our schools.

The Department continues to work closely with NSW Health and the

Australian Government to monitor and respond to developments and

to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students and staff.

Our schools have adopted social distancing measures. This includes

cancelling or postponing:

• assemblies, events, meetings and conferences;

• all major arts, sports and initiative activities and events (including

whole-school sporting events and inter-school events involving three

or more schools);

• excursions and travel (both within and outside Australia).

If you or your child is unwell with a respiratory illness, stay at home until

symptoms clear up.

PERCUSSION COURSE FOR YEAR 3 AND 4 STUDENTS Our champion percussion students continue to go from strength to strength as

they learn music theory, play percussion instruments and learn about playing

and performing as a group.

Please remind your children to bring their music books to each class. All

classes occur in the C4K room at lunchtime on Wednesdays. Students are

advised to bring their lunch to the C4K room as soon as the bell rings at

1:20pm.

BREAKFAST CLUB CHANGES!! As always, we love our students to be safe and healthy. Now that coronavirus is an issue in Australia, our

school is making some smart changes to our Breakfast Club program. The new strategies are:

1. Students can have toast but no cereal will be available;

2. Students will collect toast from counter then take it outside on the playground to eat;

3. Only staff members to serve the toast. This excludes students and parent volunteers from

helping us at this time.

ENGLISH CLASS

Our English class on 12/3/20 was engaging

and fun. Our participants answered

worksheets and practised spoken English.

We finished with the process of calling and

talking to emergency services – fire, police

and ambulance. A brilliant session!!

These are now on display outside Mrs Macmillan’s office! Great work girls and boys!!

I will be at school on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the C4K room in 2020 and I am here to answer your

questions, hear your feedback and help your family. Please drop to say hello and have a chat.
