Dear Friends, Jesus called his church to “go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” (Mark 16:15) This great call and command from Christ gives focus and clarity to us as a church as we seek to live out our mission to offer Christ, nurture one another, and serve all. One of the great ministries of Auburn UMC is the Beyond the Walls mission opportunities. In this ministry, Keith Foster and the mission team provides a pathway of service for every person to offer Christ and serve all as the hands and feet of Christ to “all the world.” There are places to serve locally by taking part in our Community Workdays. The Disaster Relief ministries equip people to join an Early Response Team (ERT) and assist people in places of disaster following hurricanes, tornados, or floods. In our 8:00am worship service this Sunday, we will commission a team traveling to Nicaragua. In the months ahead, teams will travel and serve in places like: Panama: May 7–14, May 27–June 3, June 10–17 Costa Rica: June 4–11 Haiti: Spring Break and Christmas North Dakota: June 24–30 Bolivia: July 24–August 3 Along with these mission experiences, SIFAT (Servants in Faith and Technology) offers two mission camps through our church. On March 31–April 2, the Around the World Weekend provides hands-on activities and missional training for families and people of all ages. June 25–30 SIFAT offers a week long Learn and Serve camp for 7th–12th graders to gain a holistic view of the developing world. There are so many ways to “go into all the world” through Auburn UMC. Jesus called his church to “go into all the world and preach the good news to all

creation.” (Mark 16:15) This great call and command from Christ gives focus and clarity to us

Summer Mission Trip Informational Meeting

If you are interested in going on a mission

trip this summer to Panama, Costa Rica,

North Dakota, or Bolivia there will be an

informational meeting on February 12 at

12:15pm in the Mathison Lobby

Conference Room (B160).

Sunday School will meet at 9:30 and 11:00am.

MYF will meet 5:30-7:00pm, free supper.

Thursdays, 7:00am in the Youth Center, Jr. High, 7th-9th grades. Parents

drop off your child and we will drive them to their school.

D-Group Mission Days

This spring we will have D-Group Mission Days every Saturday beginning

February 11-April 29. Mission Days are for D-Groups to serve in our

community.

Fellowship Brunch

Come bring a friend and join us for brunch at Chappy’s Deli for a

time of fellowship and conversation!

The fellowship will meet every third Wednesday at 11:00am.

The next brunch is this Wednesday, February 15.

Upcoming Events

Day Trip to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival on Saturday,

March 18 to see the play “Sherlock Holmes”. We will depart the

church around noon and enjoy a meal in Montgomery after the play.

The cost will be $45 and includes transportation and a ticket to the

play. The meal is not included in the $45. If you would like to go

please contact Winsley or Cheri at 334-826-8800.

Extended Trip to Niagara Falls June 5 thru 9. We will leave the

church early the morning of the June 5 and take a motor coach to

the airport in Atlanta to fly to Buffalo NY. We will be spending

5 days in the Niagara Falls area on the Canadian side, so passports

will be necessary. The trip will include a visit to the city of Toronto,

Ontario. The cost will be $1150 per person. Please call Winsley or

information.

Threads of Love

This group will meet Monday, February 13 at 9:00am in room

D104 of the Annex. The ladies of this group sew items for newborn

and still born babies as well as items for missions. Come sew, learn

to sew and fellowship with us.

Let’s Get Active

Feeling stuck but know that you should be up and moving? Why

don’t you give Let’s Get Active a chance and experience great

fellowship. This is a wonderful, sweet and encouraging group who

will help and encourage you to keep your body active and healthy.

This low-impact exercise group meets on Tuesdays and

Thursdays at 8:30am in the Annex/Round Room. Let’s get out and

get moving!!

Yoga for Wimps

Always wondered what yoga is all about? Come and take

advantage of a free and stress free way to experience yoga for the

first time. The class meets on Wednesdays at 8:30am in the Annex/

Round Room and is open to beginners and experienced Yoga

enthusiasts.

Newcomers and Visitors Are Always Welcome! For more information

Join us for a weekend-trip for all age

groups that provides an opportunity to

participate in hands-on activities with an

international perspective and learn about

basic and simple Appropriate

Technologies. We will be staying in

SIFAT’s lodge in Lineville, AL. It

includes a full kitchen, bunk beds, and

plenty of bathrooms. For the ultimate

majority world experience, you are welcome to spend Saturday night in the global

“Christ Is For Us”

Explore God’s saving and redeeming love during this Lenten season with this 7-

week study of the Lectionary Scripture readings for Lent and Easter. Be guided

into a deeper understanding of theses Scriptures, as they call us to embrace God’s

salvation and the new life offered to us through Christ. Delve deeply into the

Scripture passages on which Cory and Charles will be preaching!

Jacquie Cruz will be featured in concert on

Sunday, February 19 at 3:00pm coinciding with

the release of her new album, “Hopefull”

produced by Derric Johnson in Orlando. The

new album features many inspirational favorites

masterfully arranged by Derric Johnson and

Mary McDonald including “The Rose,” “The

Lord’s Prayer,” “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” “Impossible Dream,”

and many more favorites. Also featured will be Kay Lee on violin.

Don’t miss this exciting premiere performance by one of our own! A

love offering will be received and autographed CD’s will be available

for the first time on that day.

Jacquie Cruz in Concert Sunday, February 19

AUMC Youth Ministry, just returned from their annual Winter Retreat. In attendance were 405 students and 99 adult and college leaders at Shocco Springs

in Talladega, Alabama. During the weekend they learned about, experienced, and celebrated the gospel message through powerful worship and music, relevant

and challenging messages, nurturing family groups, deep fellowship, and even crazy football! God’s Spirit was evident as many made life changing

commitments. AUMC Youth Ministry would like to thank all of our prayer warriors and the amazing volunteer leaders that allow us to share the love and

grace of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
