Iran’s valve industry is open for business

First Valve World Middle East Conference!

www.valve-world.net See “Events”

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to attend this first Valve World Middle East Conference. Since UN sanctions were lifted from Iran on January 16th, 2016, much of the world has been keen to look into the economic prospects of doing business with us. This has certainly been true of the valve industry – just one of the myriad of industries vying for opportuni-ties in our country of eighty million inhabitants. The fact is not at all surprising because Iran has the fourth largest oil reserves in the world, estimated to be of the order of 150 billion barrels. This is approximate-ly 10% of the world’s proven petroleum reserves. To bring this notion even better into an everyday perspective – at Iran’s 2006 production rate (before the embargo), our reserves would have lasted another ninety-eight years even if no new oil was found within our country’s borders. Even more impressive, our country’s proven natural gas reserves exceed 30 trillion cubic meters. This is 15.8% of the world’s total reserves – the second largest of any country with the exception of Russia. As such, even with present low prices for fossil fuels, Iran remains an extremely interesting prospect to do business with. It is against this backdrop that so many business visitors came to Iran this year. Suddenly Iran is ‘hot’ not only because of the potential of our reserves but also because of our desire to maintain, refurbish, and expand our oil & gas industry. Likewise the best of Iranian companies want to investigate the prospects to export again. As such, the idea of knowledge exchange is very much on people’s minds. It is with these thoughts that this Valve World Middle East conference has been put together – to arrange a transfer of technologies and experience between those working in the oil & gas industry inside Iran with those from abroad. Iranian end-users from both state and privately owned oil & gas companies, EPCs, and research organizations will share with us the challenges that they face with regard to working with valves and actuators on a daily basis, but also their concerns for the future. Iranian manufacturers looking to do business outside Iran

will also come along to showcase their wares and competencies. From outside Iran, key manufactures and suppliers will put forward some of their latest products and technologies aimed at providing a solution to many of the valve challenges faced in the oil & gas industry today and tomorrow. Even more than being a technical conference, this event will look at the broader context of doing business in Iran and also the whole of the Middle East. The event will have a number of prominent Iranian speakers from state-owned and privately-owned end-user oil & gas companies, government organizations, and manu-facturers from both inside and outside Iran – a clear indication of the significance in which this event is regarded. Lawyers and brokerage firms experienced in the legal and financial implications of doing business in Iran will also be on hand to offer solutions to your unique business situations.

Perhaps, however, first and foremost this will be a networking event offering you the chance to meet up and discuss ideas with like-mind-ed people across country borders and exchange knowledge and expe-riences. Look upon it as a building block to setting up or strengthen-ing your business relationships for a bright future.

Halle Bakhteeyar, Ph.D. Conference Chair Manico, Iran

Valve World Middle East Conference 2017

The conference program has been split into several main themes. There will be lectures, which look at the current state of the Iranian Oil & Gas industries – the challenges these industries face and their need and interest in new technological developments; new business prospects throughout the Middle East region as a whole; how best to go about doing business in Iran – what are the prospects and possibilities for investment, the financial implications, and the laws governing trade. The latest developments in valves and associa-ted products for the oil & gas industries will also be addressed. Topics of the various sessions and workshops will cover in alpha-betical order: Coatings & claddings; Control valves; Maintenance & trouble shooting; Materials, casting & forgings; Middle East market research possibilities; Severe service and sealing; Technology transfer potential between companies inside and outside Iran; Valve actuators & networks; Safety valves, and Standards & requirements. Throughout the program there will be plenty of time in which to network and do business in a socially attractive environment.

Conference Program

Delegates

Delegates to the conference will come from Iran, Europe, the Middle East, Far East, India and Canada. The two-day event will bring together Iranians from the middle-to-higher echelons of decision-making management of independently owned/state owned end-user com-panies in the oil & gas industries, design and maintenance engineers, engineers from EPCs, procurement officials, distributors and agents, university research bodies, those looking for new techniques and innovations with regards to valves and their associated products to improve their company’s production performance, and those looking for new business opportunities, with manufacturers and suppliers, distributors, traders, EPCs, maintenance companies, testing, inspect-ing, and certification organizations, as well as investors and bankers.

• To provide a platform for those seeking to update their knowledge base with regard to latest developments, technologies, and trends in valves for the oil & gas industries.

• To provide a relaxed, social networking atmosphere in which delegates can not only get advice and solutions to the challenges that they face in their everyday working lives, but also look into the possibility of developing new business and business partnerships.

(1) An overview and expected prognosis on oil & gas projects in the Middle East during the next five years.

(2) Where is it expected that major developments will take place – what is happening where? Where are the regions with the most fields that still have to be developed and where is this most likely to happen?

(3) What is likely to be the standing on new field developments consid-ering oil & gas prices during the coming years in terms of increasing developments towards the use of green solutions to provide energy?

(4) What is the trend in the use of valves in the Middle East in the oil & gas industries? Who imports from whom, what and why? Who exports what and where?

(5) Where are the opportunities?AND MUCH MORE

An opportunity for companies to present themselves to the audience in five minutes and a maximum of five slides. Key will be to show their competences and expertise. What types of relationships are they looking for and in what aspects of the valve industry? What are their own key products? Topics that could prove to be of further interest are: those looking for agents or partners in Iran; those looking to transfer some de-gree of manufacturing to Iran; those looking to export; those looking for specific end-users; those interested in test facilities; investors looking for various types of cooperation, etc.
