The District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the Central District, and his suite, con- ducted its annual audit of our Lodge on October 8th. I am pleased to report no major issues were identified. He, along with dignitaries from the State Elks Association also attended our initiation on October 14th. District Deputy Robert Claffey, Jr., spoke to our members and recognized the effort of Lodge No. 2202 in our community service efforts, veteran sup- port, and Camp Sunrise pro- grams. State Elks Association President, Peter Freiler, pre- sented our new members with his State pin, and spoke about what means to be proud of "Elkdom." Tom Wieleba and Amy Bassette hosted the Polish Night Dinner on October 17th, and Dug Kehl hosted the German Night Dinner on October 24th. Thank you so much for all your hard work, not only on the day of the dinner, but also for all the prep work prior to and clean up after. A special thank you goes out to all the volunteers who helped Tom, Amy and Doug. As the holiday season ap- proaches, I’d like to remind everyone we have two major events coming which need your charity in gift donation and as volunteers: The Veter- an’s holiday dinner on De- cember 7th, and the Camp Sunrise Children’s Holiday Party on December 13th. I look forward to seeing you at these events. I want to wish all of you a safe Thanksgiving holiday. Elks Care - Elks Share The season for Caring and Sharing is right around the cor-

ner. Our Lodge is sponsoring events and volunteers are

needed.

Monday December 7th we will host a dinner for 60 Veter-

ans from the Rocky Hill Vets Home 5-9pm. Volunteers are

needed to help decorate, set up, serve and clean up. We are

also seeking donations of items for the Vets. A list will be

posted in the bar soon. If you can help with the event please

contact Caroline at 860-978-3119 or email

Sunday December 13th the Lodge will host the annual

Camp Sunrise Kids Christmas Party from 4-6 pm. Many

volunteers are needed for this event. Over 100 children and

their families will attend. Volunteers needed for decora-

tions, set up, cooking, serving, and clean up. Santa will visit

with gifts for the children. A list of gifts will be posted in the

bar soon, please consider choosing a gift from the list for

Santa to give at the party. If you can help with this event

please contact Jason at 860-729-1161

Fall Clean-Up

The Lodge will have a fall clean-up day

on November 21st (rain date of the 22nd).

Volunteers will meet me in the parking lot at 9:00AM. If

you have leaf blowers, rakes, etc., please plan on bring to

help out. Pizza will be provided to all volunteers for lunch.

The day should be completed around 3PM, if not sooner!

On December 6th we will be decorating

the hall for the Veterans Dinner, and

Children’s Christmas party!

Area 1 Soccer Shoot! The Connecticut Elks Association will

be hosting the Area 1 Soccer Shoot the

weekend of November 6-8. With the

actual completion set for Saturday No-

vember 7th at the Sportsworld Complex

in East Windsor at approximately 9:00am. Area 1 consists

of the 6 New England states and New York.

Annual Hoop Shoot The Lodge will conduct the annual

Hoop Shoot Competition on Saturday

December 26th at 1PM at the Smith

Middle School in Glastonbury.

Volunteers will be needed to score, rebound, registration

and we really would love to have someone who can take
