t The University Math and Writing Center, we strive to provide resources to help you reach your academic goals. We are here to help students at all levels. Our process is collaborative - we work with you to encourage effective, independent learning, and to further your knowledge and un-derstanding during your education at CSUCI.

The University Math and Writing Center is located on the first floor of the Bell Tower building. Please check the display in front of the center for times and days the center is open, or call us at 805-437-8409.

t the CSUCI Math Tutoring Center, you can receive help in courses dealing with basic mathematics, geometry, statistics, calculus, as well as higher mathematics. Our tutors are able to consult in virtually every math course offered on this campus, and their specialties are posted in front of the center. They have many varing strengths in areas such as computer technol-ogy or the sciences and are able to work with students that have learning disabilities.

The University Math Center welcomes every-one. Our tutors are available to accommodate all needs, whether one desires help with:

• completing homework• studying for a test• understanding a concept• preparing for the math portion of the CBEST

The center also has a lab that is equipped with computers and plenty of table space which provides a good environment for individual studying. Walk-ins are welcome during sched-uled open hours.

ll writers, from published authors to those of us who compose memos and emails, need feedback from other writers. The University Writing Center is open to talk to you about your writing --- whether it’s a term paper, lab report, or employment letter. All of our tutors are CSUCI students who are familiar with the campus and the challenges of writing at the university level. They are available to:

• plan a paper• compose a first draft• develop your writing with appropriate

evidence• polish your completed work

Our primary goal at the Writing Center is to help you become a more careful reader of your own writing. With that in mind, tutors can also help you learn the conventions of sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation in aca-demic English.

In addition to the services within the center, we also offer computer-equipped quiet study spac-es that can be reserved for small groups and tutors.
