AboutYou are a novice working at a TV station. You really want to be a movie producer one day.Trailers for a set of special TV programs have been released but there are errors in all ten of them. You have to research and correct the trailer transcripts within the time allocated. To do this you need to explore sources and complete tasks which give you clues and background knowledge about the ten topics which you will need later.Once the corrections are made, you’ll sit a skills test to obtain a media pass, then research and create your own program. You’ll be given tips on how to do this. With any luck your program could be shown at the Bogies awards ceremony. Print/close

POP TV STUDIOOh this is outrageous! I’ve just had a look at the trailers and there are mistakes in every one of them. We’ve announced this is going live in 24 hours, AND IT IS GOING TO AIR IN 24 HOURS, but it’s a mess.

Next

Now I don’t want us all to look like complete idiots, so get your trainee producers to fix the errors in the trailer scripts and correct the voice-over autocues and the TV Guide. Otherwise we’ll all be looking for new jobs!

Yes, Sir but … we’re so short of staff …

I’ll get them on to it right away

POP TV STUDIO

We’re in a tough spot here. I’m afraid you’ll have to work through the night on it. We’re really depending on you for this but I know you can do it.

Listen I just ‘talked’ with the boss about the trailers for Australia Day. Apparently there are plenty of errors in the scripts so this is what I want you to do. First, go to each trailer and watch it at your desk. Then do some research so you’ve got enough knowledge to identify the mistakes and correct them.

Click on a monitor to watch that trailer at your desk in the Pop Studio office. You have 24 hours to complete all of them. Watch the clock to see how time is passing.

Click on the monitor to watch the trailer. Research sources then complete the task to collect clue words that you will use later. Print the transcript if you like. You can get clues for the task if you need to but it will use up precious time. Extra attempts also take time. After the task you’ll be returned to the studio.

So you’re telling me your program is finished?

Before you show it, see if it meets the quality requirements in the Quality checklist. Then move on when it’s ready.
