As the year wraps up, Tia
wants to take the
opportunity to thank all of
you for making these
projects possible. Just this
year alone, through your
contributions we have
given free, life-long health
care to enough people to
fill Fenway Park! These
deserving families often
have little to no access to medicine or doctors. We believe that it is important
that these people have to earn this privilege through hard work and education.
Distinctly, a hand up, not a hand out. Through education, the positive changes
can become permanent, passed down to future generations without further
donations because our program is self-sustaining.
This year Tia has done
projects in Cuatítlan de
García Barragán, San Juan
de los Lagos and Ciudad
Guzmán. Each of these
projects were meaningful
because of the hard work
the elected villagers put
in to study and master
the textbook and
practical skills to provide
health care to their
communities. This achievement is a great source of pride for our health workers
because most of them have only graduated from middle school and this

may be the only diploma they have ever received. Each graduation is filled
with tears of honor, pride and a deep appreciation for the donors who have
given them this life changing
opportunity.
Tia’s President, Laura Libman is teaching
Culture of Evaluation: Building Capacity
for Social Impact Measurement, a class
at ASU for nonprofit and business
leaders. Laura is proud to share her
knowledge and experience with other
organizations and acts as a small
catalyst to another good cause.
We have now completed 2 projects with
our new education partner, UVM. This
University has a very comprehensive medical school, robust science programs
and talented students. With this school, we have been able to broaden our
scope of assistance to include mental and nutritional health; both are essential
to bolster the economic cultivation of the regions we serve and to ensure that
healthy choices stick. That and they are a lot of fun to have on a brigade
(singing on the bus and dancing to music videos in the hotel room)!

bring health care to Ciudad Guzmán. We came dressed in Halloween
costumes, we listened to some of the best bands in Phoenix and we brought
hope to those less
fortunate than us.
2016 will be an
important year for
Tia and for you as a
donor. We are
offering for the first
time, an opportunity
for you to assist us
on a project and see
where your
donations are going,
meet face-to-face the people whose lives you will change. You can also gift
this all-inclusive trip to a loved one and provide them with an experience
that will change their perspective forever and offer a new appreciation for
the life we are so fortunate to enjoy. If you or someone you know may be
interested in a volunteer trip, please contact Tia at 602-694-8100.
Our last project,
we had the
privilege to work
with an orphanage
for girls in Ciudad
Guzmán. We
were warmly
greeted by dozens
of cute little faces
at our meals. The
director of the orphanage is one of our newest Promotoras and she is now
able to provide health care to many young girls in great need. The girl in the
photo above is Luzma; she is a little shy but she is a wonderful breakfast
companion.

Tia’s first project in the
new year will be in
Tuxcueca. This town is
in Jalisco, Mexico close
to Lake Chapala. The
name of the town
literally translates to
“rabbit hair skirts” in
the language of the
natives of this region.
The town’s primary
economic drivers are
farming, livestock and mining for lime stone. We are looking forward to
working with these honest and friendly people. Please let us know if you
would care to join us on this project.
We do not take you
for granted as a
supporter. Your help
is the beating heart of
this organization and
there are more than
130,000 happy,
healthy people that
will never forget what
YOU have done for
them. This coming year will bring new projects and new hope for tens of
thousands of people. Tia has vast ambitions to bring health to the world, but
we need your continued support. Tell friends, colleagues and family about
how you feel when you give to our charity and the sensation you get when
you see the pictures of families that owe everything to you.
