Keynote Speakers
Deborah Davis
Prof. Deborah S. Davis is the Professor of Sociology at Yale University. In addition, she has run a summer
workshop with CUHK where Yale students work collaboratively with students from Hong Kong and China.
Prof. Davis currently is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Asian Studies and on the editorial board of The
China Quarterly. In 2004 she helped launch the Yale China Health Journal. At Yale she has served as
Director of Academic Programs at the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization, Chair of the Department
of Sociology, Chair of the Council of East Asian Studies, Director of Graduate Studies in both East Asian
Studies and Sociology, and co-chair of the Women Faculty Forum. Currently she serves as a vice-president
of the Board of Trustees of the Yale-China Association. Professor Davis is the author or editor of ten books,
including The Consumer Revolution in Urban China (California 2000), SARS: Reception and Interpretation
in three Chinese Cities (Routledge 2007), Creating Wealth and Poverty in China (Stanford 2009), and most
recently Wives, Husbands and Lovers (Stanford 2014).
LIN Ying (林颖)
Dr. LIN Ying is currently the managing editor at the Chinese University Press. Since 2011 she also
serves as the Executive Editor of the SSCI journal at the Press, The China Review. Dr. Lin graduated
from Beijing University with an M.A. in International Politics. She received her Ph.D. in Political
Science from University of Washington, specializing in comparative and international Political
Economy, with a particular focus on China. Her major research investigates the interactions among
foreign investment, industrial policies, and technological development in China. Before joining the
Chinese University Press, she worked as assistant professor at the Division of Humanities and Social
Science, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (2007-2010), where she taught courses in
international political economy and qualitative research methodology.
Andrew Walder
Prof. Andrew G. Walder is the Denise O'Leary and Kent Thiry Professor in the School of Humanities and
Sciences at Department of Sociology of Stanford University, and Senior Fellow in the Freeman Spogli
Institute for International Studies. Previously, he served as chair of the Department of Sociology, as director
of the Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center, and as Director of the Division of International,
Comparative and Area Studies in the School of Humanities and Sciences. A political sociologist, Walder has
long specialized on the sources of conflict, stability, and change in communist regimes and their successor
states. His publications on China have ranged from the political and economic organization of the Mao era
to changing patterns of stratification, social mobility, and political conflict in the post-Mao era. Another
focus of his research has been on the political economy of Soviet-type economies and their subsequent
reform and restructuring. His current research focuses on popular political mobilization in late-1960s China
and the subsequent collapse and rebuilding of the Chinese party-state.

一、香港天气
香港一月份的气温在 10-15℃之间,请注意保暖。香港天气会不时有雨,请尽可能带备雨具,香港天

二、入境及前往香港中文大学
从中国内地来港,可以乘搭火车或飞机。乘搭飞机可以选择从深圳入境,或乘搭国际航班直达香港
国际机场(又称赤腊角机场)。香港中文大学邻近深圳,从内地出发的访客由深圳入境可以节省交通费。
乘坐火车到深圳:火车站出来就是罗湖口岸。入境后乘搭港铁东铁线列车,约 25分钟可抵达“大
学”站。头等车厢设软座,双倍收费。进入时请务必刷八达通卡确认,以免被罚款。
乘坐飞机到深圳:从机场出来,在 B区第六出口乘坐 K568小巴(08:00-23:30,机场-罗湖火
车站),约 50分钟抵达罗湖口岸,票价为人民币 20元。也可乘搭出租车到罗湖口岸,车费约人民币
120元。
乘坐直通火车到香港:在终点站“红磡”站下车后,乘搭港铁东铁线往罗湖或落马洲方向列车,
在“大学”站下车即可,车费约港币 6.5元。
乘坐飞机到香港赤腊角机场:在机场乘搭 A41号机场巴士(06:00-24:00)到沙田市中心(该站
并非巴士终点站,请预先向司机查询下车地点)。车程需 40-50分钟,车费为港币 22.3元,不设找赎,
可使用“八达通”卡。于沙田下车后,可搭出租车前往香港中文大学雅礼宾馆(车费约港币 60 元);或
前往港铁“沙田”站,乘搭东铁线往罗湖或落马洲方向列车,在“大学”站下车。除巴士外,也可由机场
乘搭出租车到中文大学雅礼宾馆,约 45分钟。建议乘搭绿色出租车,车费约港币 250元,不建议乘搭
红色出租车(车费约港币$320元)。出租车司机能操日常英语及普通话。

三、乘车购票、出租车付款
建议到达香港后在港铁站或机场购买“八达通”卡(售价为每张港币 200元,内含 50元押金和 150元
可用值)。“八达通”卡可用于乘搭港铁、巴士、小巴,也可用于杂货店、超市、便利店购物,以及在大学
餐厅用餐等。此卡可充值,出境时可办理退还卡上余款和押金。但乘搭出租车需要付现金。
四、进入校园、到大学宾馆、前往中国研究服务中心和会场
乘搭港铁东铁线列车到达中文大学:“大学”站有四个出口,请从 A 出口出站进入校园。如需直接前
往雅礼宾馆,但没有手提电话,请在出站前使用站内投币电话(HK$1.00 / 5分钟),联络大学宾馆服务
台 2603-6411,请宾馆安排小巴来接您。并请出站后在遮雨长廊处等候宾馆小巴。通常,您的行李放在身
边,宾馆小巴司机会很容易认出您。(注意:宾馆是 24小时均可登记入住,但免费接送服务时间为早上
8时至晚上 10时 45分。如果不是在这个时段来访,请您乘搭出租车直接到大学雅礼宾馆登记入住)。
若从大学站直接到中国研究服务中心(田家炳楼 8楼)或祖尧堂(大学行政楼),可在校车总站搭乘
免费校车,在第二个经停站“邵逸夫堂”站下车,向大学图书馆方向步行约 200 米即到。有关更多校内免
费校车的资料,请浏览网页: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/transport_unit/
乘坐出租车到中文大学:可要求司机将您送到指定地点(如雅礼宾馆、大学行政楼、田家炳楼等)。
从大学出行:雅礼宾馆设有专车定时开往大学火车站,时刻表会放在宾馆房间内(服务时间:早上 8
时至晚上 10时 45分)。从祖尧堂 / 中国研究服务中心,或者雅礼宾馆往返于大学车站,步行下山一般需
要 10-15分钟,上山需较长时间;也可乘搭往免费校车,上下班高峰时段班次较多,其它时间约每 20分
钟一趟,夜间 11点后停开;或者叫大学宾馆(2603-6411)安排小巴接送;也可在大学正门外等候出租车,
或请大学宾馆(2603-6411)代为招上门出租车。港铁列车一般到夜间 12时或稍晚停开,请尽量不要错过,
否则可能需要乘搭出租车返回学校。
五、其它事宜
校内就餐:晚餐可在范克廉楼内各膳堂或者其它餐厅自理。早餐可于雅礼宾馆附近、范克廉楼内各

校内购物:午餐厅范克廉楼附近设有百佳超市、大学礼品店、理发店、银行等服务。
校内购书:大学书店(商务印书店)位于康本国际学术园一楼(详见校园地图)。
上网、复印:雅礼宾馆提供免费有线宽带上网服务及Wi-fi,房间内有具体联机说明;如需技术支援,
请向宾馆服务台查询;如需借用电源转换插头(数量有限),也请联络宾馆总台。
中国研究服务中心备有两台公用电脑可上网。中心提供复印服务(每页港币 4 角,需使用“八达通”
卡付款);中心开放时间为:周一至周五 09:00-17:50;周六 09:00-12:15。
港币兑换:入境口岸、机场皆有专门兑换点,需收取手续费。有银联标记的信用卡可在大部分 ATM
机直接支取港币(会收取手续费)。部分购物场所可以直接使用人民币消费。
长途电话:如需拨打长途电话,可在罗湖口岸或香港机场购买本港的电话储值卡。储值卡附增一个
本港的 SIM卡,可直接插入手机使用。不同的电讯服务商的储值卡,价格不相同,购买时请小心咨询。
致电中国大陆,最便宜大约是每分钟港币 0.20-0.25元。
