The Calasetta vineyard was founded in 1932 by thirteen, now three hundred, stubborn
and capable winegrowers, who were convinced that a unique and
fortunate union of nature, sun, wind, the sea and sand would create the perfect conditions for an elegant and pleasing
wine with distinct identity. Their philosophy of nurturing and
exploiting nature’s gifts to the territory, while cultivating their
knowhow has lead the company to grow over the past eighty years, always remaining true to its goal of conserving the vineyard and
leaving it as a cultural and natural legacy for future generations.

The Territory
Visits and wine tastings upon request
The vineyard is situated on the island of Sant’Antioco in
the south-west of Sardinia in a production area characterized by a singular territory in which the sandy terrain permits the
cultivation of un-grafted vines, or rather vines that have their own roots. This type of cultivation
guarantees a unique organoleptic legacy for the grapes and
provides the perfect conditions for the vines, that continue to
produce excellent quality wines, even if they are very old.
Beaches, bluffs, humid areas and vineyards all juggle for space
along the road to Calasetta, the small “white” village on the island of S’Antioco in the southern part of Sardinia, where the traditional
white lime covered houses line the streets and play host to the slight
whistle of the northerly mistral wind blowing past them.
Calasetta, in the Sardinian language is “Cal’e’Seda” and in the local
Tabarchino dialect, “Cadesedda,” which was spoken by a group of
Ligurians who came from the small Tunisian island of Tabarca.
