The Superwheels Showdown will have a new location for 2017. The opportunity to move the show to an earlier date was a deciding factor. Hebert’s Candy Mansion is a beautiful venue with flat and sloping lawns with a castle-like man- sion as its backdrop. “The location couldn’t be better as it is centrally located to the Mass Pike/Route 495 and Route 9,” states Paul Mennett. This is the fifth location in the history of the showdown. It began at the Museum of Transportation in Brookline, MA and moved to New Hampshire, Springfield and Boston. According to Mennett, “The original idea for the show was to move it to a new location yearly so this is an exciting change.” To qualify to participate in this event you need to garner a Best in Show or Best in Cruise Award from our participating car shows and cruise nights. Qualifiers participat- ing in the event will be eligible for Vehicle of the Year, Cruise Vehicle of the Year, Pub- lisher’s Choice and Participant’s Choice awards and also, the New England Automobile Press Association award. Four-time participants (with the same vehicle) will qualify to compete in the Grundy Insurance Legends Series Championship. This award can only be achieved one time and then the vehicle is retired from Super Wheels Showdown major awards. Also part of the Super Wheels Showdown is the 4th Annual “Majors Cup”, open to past Cruisin’ New England Show Series Class Award winners, Top 5 Class winners and vehicles featured on our television show, Cruisin’ New England with Paul Mennett on NESN, and Class winners from any Northeast Car Show.
