The Stress on Students

As a GCSE Student, the amount of pressure for my upcoming exams is too high. My Teachers haven't even finished the topics that we are studying and we won't revise within a class at school. This is meaning that we have to revise all at home every night while doing extra homework therefore putting a lot of pressure on the students in my class. Students should be assessed on the class work we do in Class and not in an exam...

Exams are unhealthy for students

When students hear of upcoming exams, it usually means that when they go home that night they feel depressed and worried about how well they will do, and they often compare themselves to other students and worry about if they will do as well as their friends. When study begins, it often doesn't stop till midnight, thus leaving the student sleep deprived the next day, it also stops the student from taking in what they are studying.Exams stop a student from functioning properly, and often they are disappointed in their final grade, a reason that exams are bad for the health of students and should be abolished.

Schools should get rid of exams

Because it can put a ton of pressure on the students, therefore, resulting in a ton of stress and underachievement. Students are forced to learn things that will not help them later in life. Also, all that the teachers care about is the grade that the student gets, resulting in the students thinking that the grade will determine their future. Finally, students are forced to stay up extremely late to study and that will cause them to be tired and not know the correct answers.

Examinations never hurts anyone but brightens up individual's future!

The ratio is 50:50 for students who are against and not against of abolishing school exams. Exam really doesn't harm anyone but opens up brighter pathway for students to walk on. Many state that exams should be abolished just because they are 'stressed' by studying. But seriously, no individual on Earth never gets stressed in their life-time. Even though studying is stressful and hard, people just have to accept the fact that what is hard and stressful right now will just end up helping you at the end. Unless you are born in a such a wealthy family and don't have to earn any money as you already have a 'future' given to you, you have to study very hard to achieve your goals and gain knowledge. So this is why I think exams should not be abolished.

Exams do not contribute much to our studies and harms our health.

When students hear the word "exam", all they think about is the grade they are going to get. That is why many students study for the sake of the grade and not learning. Students would also have to constantly burn the midnight oil when revising for exams. After weeks and weeks of deprived sleep, the student might fall sick and all their hard work would go to the drain when they cannot take the exam.

Teachers teach the test.

Teachers whether it may be in school or college, teach what's going to be on the test. Rather than teaching a student about a subject, teachers constantly go on about what will b on the test and what the students need to know. So rather than learning and understanding what they are being taught, students just intake all the information they are fed and just put it down on paper without understanding anything that they have learnt. Result: They cant remember anything once they have finished the exam.

Exams are not healthy

Students stay up for hours and get nothing accomplished. It is not an accurate way to test the students ability. They stress to the fullest in fear that if they fail, their life will be over and they will not be able to get into post secondary education. The pressure of the future is too great for most students.

Suicide, Teach to test and Time Factors

Exams cause high stress and anxiety levels causing students to not perform at their best. High stress and anxiety levels can cause underachievement from the students. As a result more suicide is going to happen from students feeling pressured into doing well.

Students will also start believing that if it is not on the exam then it is no longer relevant for real life. This is a problem as there is no real authentic learning method.

Time factors are also a big contribution as exams can be very stressful in timed circumstances. Students with ADD, ADHD etc will have trouble and begin crying. Other injuries and conditions may not be taken under special consideration while in an exam situation.

Exams are stupid

Exams are just a waste of time and it gives stress to the students. They need to stay up til midnight just to study and they will have lack of sleep. Exams only test the memory and not the knowledge of the students. This is why exams should be abolished.

Exams are Great

. First of all, exams would motivate pupils to study. Statistics show that most parents would reward children if they get good grades in their exams. This reward would help them to do well and they will do well in future studies. Of course, pupils will build up stress, but that’s part of growing up. Exams would help pupils to control themselves and build up lots of confidence. It will test the pupil’s ability. To add to this, exams will help choose which school is a better choice for you if you are moving from primary school to secondary school. How do you know which one is for you?

Examinations motivate pupils to study

Parents pressurize their children to study for the exams. If they get good grades, they may get a reward. This reward motivates children to study and therefore they will properly learn. Stress is another process of growing up. In the teenage years, they may kick objects, cut themselves, cry their hearts out, but after all this, they will learn to control themselves. Examinations are also a test of their ability. If you are ending elementary school and going to middle school, how do you know which school is a better choice for you? Different schools have different standards. How do you know which one is suitable for you? This system has been around for a long time. In ancient China, scholars took exams. They king chose his officials from the exam. That's why i believe that examinations should not be abolished

No abolishment of exams

Exams are actually not the test of the brain. It is the test of knowledge that how much a child has gained knowledge. Students get scared of examination but if they have understood the concept of whatever chapter they are taught then why to get scared. So tests are just the other way to know how much a child has understood...

Public Exams should not be abolished........,

An exam creates a sense of seriousness in the students which is very necessary to build a bright future.Students get a chance to compete with their companions, to know their position through this they not only develop a competitive spirit but also this strengthens their will power to be confident about their future.

Exams should not be abolished!

I could type all day about why exams are important and listing all the reasons. I could spend forever refuting and rebutting the arguments made by people who wish to abolish exams. But it would just be another comment. Those who agree with me here have stated all the reasons perfectly.

Fun of exams

Many people think that one who scores above 65-70% are intelligent, hardworking etc .But i have seen many real life examples where students are very comfortable without exams . And many of such students have their own business as well. The only thing i would like to abolish that there is no need of higher education (PG,PhD) for everyone,it should be abolish

First of all, foreign labour is almost always cheap. Workers and economic migrants are attracted to countries with strong economies because they gcan earn higher salaries than at home. This means that the host country can get a good supply of cheap labour and this will make it more competitive and increase profits. Second, foreign workers are already trained. There is no need to wait years to train them in college or on the job. This also saves a lot of money and means that projects can be completed rapidly. A third point is that foreign workers are prepared to do jobs that local people do not want to do, such as work in remote areas or do dangerous or dirty jobs. These often include jobs in construction or in jobs with anti-social hours such as hotels. All of these mean that companies can provide a wide range of services at lower costs.

Firstly foreign workers help establish job opportunities. An immigrant will take a job within a 3-dimensional sector. Thus providing jobs for native born locals such as being promoted to supervisors. Since there are more workers to do the dirty jobs. Job opportunities can be opened. More workers (locals) are already losing their job to machines so what's there to lose.

My case is on how foreign labour helps ease the burden on the working population of countries with low replacement rates.goverment

First of all, foreign workers may not be loyal to a company. This means they may change job often or leave the country quickly if there is a problem, such as happened recently in Libya. Secondly, they may create a lack of employment opportunities among locals. Employers may not want to give locals high salaries if they can employ expatriates more cheaply. A third problem is that they lower wages for certain jobs. Jobs which are attractive in some countries such as construction become very lowly paid if they employ mostly foreign workers. These factors may cause serious problems and imbalances in the host economy, such as too many locals in the government or public sector. A further point is that some expatriate labour is not really cheap, since it may be less effective or their skills may not transfer well to the new country.

A foreign worker is a person who works in a country other than the one of which he or she is a citizen. Migrant workers may follow work within their own country A foreign worker is a person who works in a country other than the one of which he or she is a citizen. Migrant workers may follow work within their own country or between countries, depending on which definition is used. Some foreign workers are present temporarily and legally through a guest worker program in a country with more preferred job prospects than their home country. Some are illegal aliens. Foreign workers temporarily reside in the country in which they work, and will often send most or all wages earned back to their country of origin.

THE EFFECTS OF FOREIGN WORKERS TO THE MALAYSIANS ECONOMY

Malaysia is developing rapidly and striving towards becoming a developed country by the Year

2020. In the process of doing so, the need to hire foreign workers is inevitable. Consequently,

their arrival will have effects on the Malaysian’s economy. Some of the major effects are the

transferring of technology, skills and knowledge to our country, growth of economic activities

and competition of jobs opening to the locals too.

First and foremost, highly skilled workers are crucial towards developing Malaysia. The

government has engaged the highly skilled educated expatriates in the manufacturing,

technology, education and other fields. By doing so, the foreign workers will be transferring their

skills and knowledge to the Malaysians. For example, the Japanese transfer their manufacturing

technology in automotive industries. As a result, we are now producing our own cars as we have

the knowledge and expertise to do so. Economically, Malaysia also managed to monetarily save

as Malaysians are trained locally instead of being sent overseas.

Apart from that, the foreign workers contributed to the economic growth as their presence put

demands on the growth of public amenities and services. Malaysians economy will be more alive

as new housing areas are being construct, transportations projects to be improved and even more

entertainment and shopping centers are being open to cater for their needs. There will also be

demands for other necessities such as food, health, educations and clothing. Thereby, these will

further spur the economic activities.

On the other hand, when we hire the foreign workers, jobs opening for the locals are diminishing

as they have to compete with the foreigners. In fact, some companies prefer to hire foreign

workers as they are willing to accept lower pay from the locals especially in the lower skilled

jobs. Consequently, more locals will be jobless and unable to contribute economically to the

country. Furthermore, the burden will be put on the government as social welfare expenses will

be higher.

In conclusion, there are positive and negative effects of foreign workers to Malaysian’s

economy. Thus, the government plays an important role on balancing the situation so that the

policy of having foreign workers in Malaysia will have maximum benefit to the country.
