PREPARATION AND MATERIALS A board game for every team. Three sets of cards (a blue, a pink and a yellow one). A die for every team and counters. TIMING 45 minutes. PROCEDURE Divide your class into groups of three or four students. Distribute a board game and a die to each group and a counter for each student. Players decide among themselves who starts. They must take turns, clockwise. The first player rolls the die and moves his/her counter the corresponding number of stars. If the player lands on a blue star s/he will pick up a blue card, if the player lands on a yellow star s/he will pick up a yellow card and if the player lands on a pink star s/he will pick up a pink card. Each card has a question which the student must try to answer correctly. Pink cards – Pronunciation. Blue cards – Shopping vocabulary Yellow cards – Grammar.

• If the answer is right, the student will stay on that star. If it is wrong, s/he must go back to the star where he was before throwing the die.

• If the player lands on a red star, s/he must follow the instructions on the board.

• The game continues in this way.

• The winner is the first student who reaches the “Finish” square.

• The teacher must walk around the class and check that the students understand all the questions.

• Students must pick up their card and give it to another student to read it out, to ensure that the student who is going to answer the question doesn’t see its correct answer (which is at the bottom of each card).
