    I. C ORPORATE P ROFILE

    The Stanford Daily Publishing Corporation was organized in 1973 and currently operates asa 501(c) 3 exempt non-profit corporation. It is one of only a handful of independent campusnewspapers in the country, run entirely by students. The Stanford Daily Publishing Corporation generates annual revenue of nearly $1 million, and maintains assets of over$400,000.

    The VP of Sales is responsible for establishing and achieving revenue numbers that will

    assure the financial and editorial independence of the publication from Stanford University.

    II. VP S ALES R ESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :

    Sales Team Leadership Establishing monthly revenue goals and producing sales summaries. Recruiting, managing, training, and mentoring a sales team of roughly 10 people to

    achieve sales targets throughout the year.Corporate Strategy

    As Sales VP, you will sit on the board of directors, providing key input regarding future direction and success of the organization.

    Maintaining and expanding the Dailys roster of top-line advertising accounts. Defining and executing advertising sales initiatives to produce revenue for theorganization.

    Performing market research and identifying new business opportunities whiledeveloping targeted sales plans for each market segment.

    Dedication to Customers Ensuring that advertisements are inserted into the required publications in a timely

    and accurate fashion, in accordance with the Company's production schedules andpolicies.

    Providing outstanding customer service to the Company's advertisers. Behaving in a manner consistent with the moral and ethical character of the

    Company, its employees, and its clients.

    The Vice President of Advertising position will begin on July 1, 2009, and last through June30, 2010. All majors are encouraged to apply, and no previous business experience isrequired.

    Candidates should be:- Energetic, outgoing and a people person- A clear communicator in both speech and writing - Detail-oriented and always on-top of their work load- Prepared to drive revenues through print and online ad sales-
