Parish Announcements

STOP - POP - DROP

For more than three decades, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio (RMHC) has been serving families with seriously ill children by provid-ing a home-away-from-home at the Columbus Ronald McDonald House.

For years the tabs of beverage cans have been col-lected as a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House. They are able to generate thousands of dollars from their pop tab collection (a compact, easily collect-able source of aluminum) program every year. So, STOP (before you recycle the can) POP (the tab) and DROP (the tab in a receptacle).

There is a collection receptacle in the Living Room.

FOOD COLLECTION

Please help feed the hungry through food donations to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church Food Pantry. Es-pecially good are canned vegetables.

When you go grocery shopping, please pur-chase a couple of cans of vegetables or other items to donate.

Staples such as rice, spaghetti, cereals, peanut but-ter, and canned fruit are great too. Also needed are diapers, soap and other hygiene items that cannot be purchased with food stamps.

There is a box in the Living Room for your contributions.

Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look gra-ciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a rector for this parish, that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our minis-tries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Your Pastoral Care Team welcomes all prayer re-quests. Please include:

1. Whether you wish both the first and last name of the person, or only the first name on the prayer list.

2. Name of hospital, when appropriate.

3. Whether the person would like a visit and/or Com-munion from a member of the Pastoral Care team.

4. Your name, and how to reach you, in case we need contact information for the person.

Tell Us How To Reach You!

Why is this important? Because it could save your life...

Recently, a parishioner who regularly attends meetings did not show up for several days. No one heard from him. Concerned for his safety, a fellow church member tried to contact him. Checking the parishioner’s pastoral care contact file, information was found on how to reach a neighbor and friend. As a result of team work with the neighbor, medical assistance was pro-vided and a dear parishioner’s life was saved.

This sounds dramatic, and it is! It illustrates how important it is for the church to have a “contact person” for you in case of an emergency. All in-formation is confidential.

The church is your place for renewal, and some-

times rescue! Please take a minute to contact

Rev. Nicolette, Eileen Becknell, or Ernestine

Ujah to supply your information.
