Since 1836 Holland & Sherry has proudly supplied the most prestigious tailors and luxury brands with the finest cloths in the world.

Stephen George Holland and Frederick Sherry began the business as woollen merchants at 10 Old Bond Street, London, specialising in both woollen and silk cloths. In 1886 Holland & Sherry moved premises to Golden Square, the epitome of the woollen merchanting trade.

By 1900 Holland & Sherry was exporting to many countries worldwide. At this time a sales office was established in New York. In the early part of the twentieth century, the United Kingdom, Europe, North and South America were the dominant markets for the company. Amongst other distribution arrangements, there was a Holland & Sherry warehouse in St. Petersburg, Russia; a successful market prior to the revolution as it is today.

In 1968 Holland & Sherry bought Scottish cloth merchant, Lowe Donald, based in Peebles in the Scottish Borders and located their distribution to the purpose-built warehouse there.

Of all the cloth merchants of Golden Square which were established in the late 1800’s, only Holland & Sherry remains. Over the decades the company has purchased nearly twenty other wool companies.

In 1982 Holland & Sherry moved their flagship showroom and registered office to the centre of sartorial style – Savile Row, London where it remains today.

Today, our international headquarters in Peebles concentrates on customer service, ordering, shipping, cutting, bunchmaking and design operations where we are constantly engaged in research for ever finer and more luxurious fibres and fabric qualities; sourcing the finest natural fibres, ranging from Super 240’s, cashmere to pure worsted Vicuña.

Luxury Super 130’s Wool Worsted with Bouclé Decoration

A collection inspired by classic windowpanes and stripe designs, but with a twist.

The all-time classics have been rejuvenated with invigorating bouclé fancies, creating a contemporary

Bouclé – taken from the French language meaning ‘curled’, is a fancy yarn that is looped during spinning. When woven the looped effect lies delicately on the surface of the fabric, creating an intricate, textured,

The fabrics we offer you this season have been woven and selected with the same care that is given to the production process of the linen fibre. The carefully chosen colour palette offers a much wider selection and variety of colours than before, including fashionable,

contemporary tones as well as the familiar classics.

Also included is a comprehensive range of classic and contemporary colours in a blended quality of wool, linen and Teclana®. Teclana® is a technical fibre that offers good crease recovery, and helps the garment

maintain its hand tailored, bespoke shape.

Because of their unrivalled, durable nature the fabrics in this collection are ideal for jackets, trousers, dresses

and skirts.

This collection is a new range of high performance, classically styled suiting fabrics woven from Super 120’s wool worsted with Teclana®. Teclana® is an exclusive technical fibre developed by Holland & Sherry, combining the natural benefits of wool with the technical advantages of Teclana® and boasting the

following properties:

• Ultra-fine Teclana® is finer than most delicate silks• The soft sheen and lustre of the fibre give the fabric

a luxurious handle and look• Teclana® offers good insulation and allows the body to

breathe, making it comfortable to wear• Teclana® has a natural wicking action that keeps the

body cool and dry in warm climates• Teclana® blended fabrics are not prone to pilling• Teclana® blended fabrics tailor well and hold their shape • Teclana® blended fabrics are not prone to creasing

A wool-blended fabric with Teclana® benefits from all of the above properties, with the added benefit of Super 120’s merino wool. Its natural crimp creates pockets of air, allowing for movement and manipulation when tailoring, and natural

stretch for added comfort when being worn.

For this collection we have created an intimate blend of Teclana® with a 17.5µ micron wool, spun to the finest count possible, creating a more competitively priced fabric that has the same handle and weight normally associated with fabrics

woven from finer micron, more expensive wools.

Holland & Sherry’s English Mohair collection includes a selection of superfine wool/mohair blended qualities and offers a quintessential collection of colour woven plains, semi plains, small neat effects and classic stripes for men and women’s tailored summer suits. The collection is further extended to include a range of fabrics especially designed for evening wear. English Mohair cloth feels dry, crisp and smooth: it is cool to

wear and ideal for humid environments.

The fabrics have been developed exclusively by Holland & Sherry and are renowned for holding their shape well when tailored. This quality alone allows for a smart bespoke, sculptured look;

Every fleece is tested at shearing so we can guarantee that the garments made from Gostwyck merino are comfortable

Woven from either plain weave or twill constructions, in compositions of Super 130’s wool worsted merino or wool silk linen blends, we are

certain that this comprehensive collection will suit all tastes.

Cloths woven from a Super 130’s merino wool yarn and constructed from a 2/2 twill have a luxurious, soft handle, with good drape and strength qualities. These cloths also have a good recovery from creasing due to the natural crimp of the wool fibre. The crimp also provides

natural elasticity, making it comfortable to wear and easy to tailor.

Bold, unfussy checks create a fresh and striking summer look.
