The Ways to Win
Mystery Box
You could win a box filled with gift cards from some of Austin’s best and most beloved restaurants (value: $500
or more). Where will you eat next? The Mystery Box will help you decide.
Heads or Tails Heads or Tails is the easiest way ever to win! If you paid to play, stand up
and put a hand on your head or your tail. We flip a coin — if it’s heads and you picked heads, you stay standing. We keep going until the last coin is
flipped! The last person standing wins a $200 gift basket from Rudy’s
Country Store and Bar-B-Q and a beauty package from
Avant Salon & Spa.
Paddles Up! Paddles Up! closes out our evening
with our auctioneer looking for “bids” to help push our numbers over the top. Paddles Up! gifts this year will launch Water to Thrive’s Drop by Drop Fund
to support ongoing operations.
Our auctioneer
Heath Hale
We are proud to welcome tonight’s Cowboy Auctioneer,
Heath Hale and his team of Cowboy Ringmen.
The Cowboys have raised more than $9 million so far in 2017 for charities in Austin and across Texas. The Cowboys are honored to partner with us in our
mission, as bringing water and resources to people in Africa is very
important to them personally.
When it’s time to bid, just look for the cowboy hats!
Gashaw Semeneh
Gashaw Semeneh is Water to Thrive’s invaluable project manager in Ethiopia.
Born and raised the son of a famous photographer in Addis Ababa, Gashaw
studied geology at university and worked for private water construction companies and local and international NGOs for more than a decade before
joining Water to Thrive in 2014.
As W2T’s project manager, Gashaw oversees site selections and the design and construction of the various water
projects built by our local implementing partners in East Africa. He ensures the sustainability of the projects by training
local partner staffs, community members, and local leaders.
Gashaw and his wife Lidiya live in Addis with their children, Enoch and Hebron.

About Water to Thrive
Chef’s Table Austin supports the work and operations of Water to Thrive, a faith-based non-profit that raises funds to build water wells in rural Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Uganda, bringing the blessing of safe, clean drinking water to the people there. Earmarking the proceeds from our events for operational expenses allows us to keep our 100 percent promise, that all money given for water wells goes to build water wells.
Since its inception in 2008, thanks to the generous commitment of our donors, Water to Thrive has funded more than 750 water projects, bringing life-saving water to more than 425,000 people. In the United States, our team works with individuals, churches, corporate offices, schools – anyone who shares our passion to bring clean, safe water to those who need it. In Africa, we partner with local NGOs to implement our water work. With invaluable on-the-ground assistance from our Ethiopian project officer, we use phone, Skype, and e-mail to meet with our partners on a regular basis, following up with two trips each year to assess current and future projects. By working with partners who are familiar with the countries and the communities in which we implement our water work, we are able to better understand the water need, to determine the best ways to address it, and to work efficiently and effectively to construct sustainable water wells.
To learn more about our operations, fundraising campaigns, well construction, or traveling with us to Ethiopia, please visit watertothrive.org.
Start a campaignWith our tools and support, you can build your own fundraising campaign to bring clean, safe water to rural Africa. Raise $5,000 to sponsor a full water project.
Become a Water AngelWater Angels are a special group of supporters committed to giving $1,000 or more each year. Because 100 percent of water donations go to water projects, Water Angels play a critical role in helping us fulfill our mission by funding W2T operations, partnerships, fundraising, and travel in the field to inspect projects and build relationships.
Give and sustainThanks to our donors’ generosity, W2T has been able to build more than 750 water projects, bringing water to more than 425,000 people. And we stay busy working with our partners on the ground to identify the greatest needs and how we can help. The funds you donate help us further our mission and bring clean water to even more people across rural Africa. Recurring donations to our Drop by Drop Fund keep our operations running on two continents. Use the form in this program or visit watertothrive.org to make your gift today.
Be an AmbassadorThe Water to Thrive Ambassador Program is vital to spreading our mission nationwide. Ambassadors inspire, educate, and motivate their communities to do something about the global water crisis.
Spread the wordHelp us tell the story of the need for clean, safe water in Africa and how we can achieve it. Use our resources to pass information along. Share our Facebook posts. Start conversations. Change lives.
I’d like to do more...
VisionWe envision a world where we share
