GATHERING TOGETHER

WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS SHARING JOYS AND CONCERNS

INSTRUMENTAL PRELUDE: Take My Life arr: Bill Wolaver

CALL TO WORSHIP: based on Isaiah 55 Rev. Bob Williams-Neal Leader: Come, all who thirst, come to the waters. Let us bend our ear to the LORD, to listen and hear that our soul may live. People: We will seek the LORD while he may be found; we will call upon him while he is near. Leader: As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are his ways higher than our ways, and his thoughts higher than our thoughts. People: As rain comes from the heavens to nourish the earth, so does God’s Word come from his mouth, doing what he declares, faithful to nourish our souls. All: Trusting in God’s sovereign grace, let us sing his praise!

* GATHERING SONG: #260—A Mighty Fortress Is Our God * PRAYER OF CONFESSION: (unison) Rev. Bob Williams-Neal

Everlasting God, fountain of all life and the true home of every heart: our hearts are

restless until they rest in you. Yet we confess that our hearts have been enslaved by a

selfish passion and a base desire. We have sought after many things and have neglected

the one thing needful. We have not loved you with our whole heart, and we do not love

our neighbor as ourselves. Help us turn to you, and by turning to you may we experience

the freeing work of your forgiveness. Lead us home, that we may again enjoy in you true

life, abiding joy and everlasting peace. In silence, we confess to you...

SILENT CONFESSION ASSURANCE OF PARDON

* GREETING ONE ANOTHER: Rev. Bob Williams-Neal Leader: May the peace of Christ be with you. People: And also with you.
