Welcome BACK to the Senior Center of Boulder City
The Senior Center of Boulder City advocates for the Senior population of Boulder City, providing services to
enhance and empower Seniors to live an independent, active lifestyle.
The Senior center exists to enrich the lives of adults 50 years of age and older in Boulder City by providing Rec-
reation, Nutrition/Food Services, Health Maintenance, Entertainment, and other services. We believe that being
active and involved is key to aging well. To this end the Senior Center of Boulder City has many activities for
the mature adult. We would like to invite you to come and try out the Center! Membership is open to anyone
50 years of age and older. Membership is based on calendar year and is $15 per year. Although you do not have
to be a member to come to the center, there are certain activities and discounts available only to members.
Look inside this edition of the SCBC newsletter to find important information regarding the voting schedule for
Board of Directors, activities sign ups, fun pages and more.
The Center will be fully open beginning June 1st! Join us for lunch during our Grand Reopening!

HELLO Everyone and Welcome back!
We have all been through such a rough time with COVID-19 shutting everything down. We have lost some of
our wonderful members and they will be dearly missed. On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Boulder City
Senior Center, we would like to thank Victoria, Lacey and all the staff for stepping up and going the extra mile
to make sure the needs of our seniors were met and continuing to provide the best support. Hats off to
Melinda, Shannon and their helpers for providing meals to all the seniors that needed them. One thing I know
for sure is that we have the BEST Senior Center!
Sincerely,
Kathy Emling, President
SCBC Board of Directors

Message from the Executive Director
Hello to all my favorite people, and welcome to the new
ones! It has been a pleasure seeing folks and we are
glad to be back to normal hours. As you all know, some
of the changes brought on by the Pandemic were tempo-
rary, hooray for the lifting of the mask mandate! And
some are going to linger on. One of them is how we
handle activities. We were forced to utilize our resource
room for pantry overflow as we continued providing
groceries for so many. This cut down on usable space
leaving the dining room and community room. To be
fair to all of the wonderful activity participants, we are
only allowing each activity one day per week. You must
schedule a day and time with the office staff to be put in
our book. If that time slot is taken, I ask for your pa-
tience and understanding as well as your cooperation in
trying to figure out an alternate date or time, or both.
You are all equally important to us so every effort will
be made to accommodate your activity.
We are excited for the coming months and SCBC’s re-
turn to fun lunch activities and holiday parties! If noth-
ing else, the last year has taught us all to appreciate the
little things and our relationships with others. Take
nothing for granted because in a blink it could all
change. On behalf of SCBC employees and Board of
Directors, we missed you and welcome back!!!
~Victoria Mason
As we get back to normal, keep your eyes
peeled for activities and parties through-
out the remainder of the year!
If you are interested in helping with the
SCBC float for the July 4th Parade, please
contact office staff.
