here though. This 120 year old home has traveled. a note from the Pres...Hello everyone,

Well as I write this note we are in the middle of a cold snap. I hope as you are reading this the weather has returned to what we expect in Florida and we are all out and enjoying it.

Resident Association elections will be held Saturday, February 3. Up for election are the four officer positions, president, vice president, treasurer and secretary. Additionally there are (3) director positions also up for election. If you would like to run for any of these positions, please contact the election commissioners, Linda Hart or Terri Gartman. They will be happy to help you with any questions or put you in touch with someone else if necessary. Or you can always call me and I'll be glad to help you. (815) 621-4193. Please come down to the clubhouse for the meeting on Feb. 3rd and cast your vote. Also on the ballot is a decision to keep our coffees on Saturday morning or move them to Friday morning. You must be current on your Resident Association dues in order to vote. For your convenience there will a representative of the dues committee present in case you need to pay your dues. Annual dues for the Resident Association are $6.00 per person.

The next improvement project is a facelift for the pool deck area. We will be painting the bathrooms and adding a mural across the entire facade of the building facing the pool area. Karen Pettinelli has donated her talents to draw the mural and chair the project, but she needs volunteers to help. She envisions a sort of “paint by numbers” approach to the project. She will draw the outline of the objects in the mural, and we will fill them in. So please join us! I will make announcements on Seabreeze News & Updates on Facebook as to when we will be getting started. Needs to warm up a bit yet.

Alright, well I think that's all I have for now. Hope to see you all on February 3 for the elections. Have a great month!

Thank you all.Scott

And Then It Is Winter by David Slabaugh

You know. . . Time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years.

It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life. Yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all. I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams. But, here it is... The winter of my life and it catches me by surprise...How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my youth go?

I remember well seeing older people through the

years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like. But, here it is...my friends are retired and getting grey - or gone...they move slower and I see an older person now. Some are in better and some worse shape than me...but, I see the great change.... Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant...but, like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be.

Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a

real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore... it's mandatory! Cause if I don't on my own free will...I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so...now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did.

But, at least I know, that though the winter has

come, and I'm not sure how long it will last...this I know - that when it's over on this earth...it's NOT over. A new adventure will begin!

Yes, I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done, things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done. It's all in a lifetime.

So, if you're not in your winter yet...let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So, whatever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly! Don't put things off too long!

Tom Peck, President-Seabreeze HOA

Remember your HOA Board has the following functions:

Represent mobile homeowners in the park pursuant to provisions of Chapter 723 Florida Statutes.

Negotiate for and acquire the mobile home park on behalf of the mobile park homeowners,

Convert the mobile home park to a cooperative to offer units for sale or lease and all legal ramifications associated with the purchase of the park as outlined in the HOA Articles of Incorporation.

As always, our Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 9:00 am in the clubhouse card room. Our next meeting will be the Annual Meeting on Saturday, Feb. 10, immediately following coffee. In addition to its normal business meeting, an election will be held for directors:

(3) three-year positions(1) two-year position(1) one-year position

Seabreeze Crafting ClassesCrafting classes have started in the park. The classes

are running Tuesday nights and open to anyone in the park. Each month will be a different theme of lessons.

January was paper crafts where Sandy Kania led Card Making and Barbara Gordon and Karen Pettinelli led Paper Quilling. There was a great turn out and everyone seemed excited to learn something new.

February will be Knitting and Crocheting. There will be two tables for each craft. Katie Kovach and Pat Krzesica will lead crochet, and Bette Quigley and Karol Christensen will lead knitting. You can switch between knitting and crochet from week to week during the month. Please come with supplies. You should get a set of knitting needles any size from 9 thru 11. The recommended yarn is Sugar and Cream cotton yarn. Walmart has yarn for $1.50 a skein. Crochet needles should be size G or H. The yarn is the same as with knitting. We will be making pot holders and dishcloths.

March will be Beading and Kumihimo. What (you

Happy HourKaren Natemeier Lane 2 lot 125 (607) 868 4290

Happy hour resumed in January and we had a wonderful time. We all enjoyed the singing and sing along with Wendy. Thank you, Wendy for the wonderful time.

February 2 and 16 are the next scheduled happy hours. These will be at the clubhouse either inside

or outside depending on the weather. If anyone wants to help with the happy hours or has any

ideas to keep it fun, please let me know.Remember, just bring whatever you want to drink, a

small dish to pass and a big smile. This is a nice time to meet new people and enjoy the

ones that you know.

Introducing our first ever, hopefully not the last, Pirates and Pig Roast!

We're trying something new! Back home in Michigan, pig roasts are pretty popular and a lot of fun. We thought we'd try it out here in Florida with our Seabreeze family.

ask) is kumihimo? It is Japanese 8 strand braiding that you can make necklaces to hang pendants. Beading will be stringing beads on wire and making endings for necklaces. Karen Pettinelli will lead both beading and kumihimo on separate nights. There will be a $3.00 fee for supplies. There are signup sheets in the clubhouse at the box office. We need to gage how many people are interested to purchase appropriate supplies beforehand.

No experience is necessary and lessons are open to anyone, not just the ladies! The lessons are every Tuesday at 7:00 - 9:00pm (stay as long as you want, just turn out the lights and lock the door behind you! More information will be announced at the Saturday morning meetings and on the Seabreeze Facebook page.

We know there’s a lot of talent in our park. Please share your skill or make a suggestion of a craft that you’d like to learn. We’d like to put together sessions for everyone to share!

For more information please feel free to contact:Barbara Gordon - (217) 246-4514 or email [email protected] Kania - (716) 464-0756 or email [email protected] Pettinelli - (610) 715 2707 or email [email protected]

Another first, is that we are having the delicious pig and sides catered by O'Shucks Raw Bar & Grill. It will cost a little more, but we think it will be worth it and hope you'll give it a try.

It wouldn't be a Seabreeze cookout without a theme, so come dressed in your favorite pirate (or wench) attire and of course, there will be some fun games and a 50/50 drawing as well.
