FROM THE MANAGER’S DESK

THE GYPSUM MILLS ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE took place in our Community Center on Saturday, July 14th and Sunday, July 15th. This year's theme was Las Vegas! Due to the hot weather. we started off slow on Saturday, but picked up by the afternoon. On Sunday, we had a bigger crowd. Games were played, prizes given away, and fun was had with our current residents and new prospects. Also, there were many free raffle drawings: (2) Winding Creek Golf Certificates for two; (1) Kindle Fire Entertainment Pad; (5) Sets of Red Wings tickets for six people. Lunch was provided and enjoyed by all.

By Monday, three sales came into our Sales Office. Our Models are still available at this time. Patty Mattice was in our Model at 6288 Murphy. She said, "The people who toured the home loved it!”

I would like to thank all of our volunteers and resident visitors who supported us during our Annual Open House. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

GYPSUM MILLS ANNUAL GARDEN CONTEST: Beth from Bristol Garden Center was our Judge this year. She enjoyed all the beautiful resident gardens here at Gypsum Mills Estates. This year, our winners are: First place ~ Mr. & Mrs. Arnolds of 6327 Roberts Drive; Second place ~ Mr. & Mrs. Ervay of 6357 Roberts Drive; Third place ~ Mr. & Mrs. Tuttle of 987 Gypsum Mills Street. Congratulations to our Winners! We have posted the flyers of the winners in the Community Center. We would like to thank all who participated.

ROADWORK WITH GYPSUM MILLS: The Town of Victor is in the process of doing road resurfacing and repairs. Please use extra caution on the streets that are affected.

SNOW BIRDS: The season will soon be coming to an end and our Snow Birds will be leaving us for the winter. We need to keep our records current so please let us know when you are leaving, an emergency contact person, where you will be staying and when you will return. This informs us as to when we should stop and start your Scoop delivery, who to contact in case we need you for a emergency on your home, and any important information about your lease renewal, rent changes, etc. Thank you for your cooperation.

FYI: Regarding the home tax issue from the Town of Victor, we are still working on this with Morgan Management.

*ATTENTION ALL COMMITTEE MEMBERS*: If you are involved in activities within Gypsum Mills Estates, everyone must sign a Recreational Facilities Waiver form that is located in the Sales Office. (This includes: bocce ball, shuffle board, tennis, horse shoes, basketball, pickle ball, golf, billiards, cards, exercise of any kind, dance, art, library, bingo, pool and hiking/walking trails.) In addition, please have everyone that participates/attends one of your func-tions held in the Community Center, even if it’s a private party, sign a waiver form. If you need extras to be left out for your event, please contact the Office prior to your function. We are happy to make copies for you. Thank you.

Very Truly Yours, Debra DeMars Community Manager

A MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT

Feeling hot, anyone? WHOA!!! 90+ degree heat, sunglasses, and fans...welcome to the Summer of 2012. I hope everyone is staying healthy and cool in this unbelievable heat wave. Although the heat can be oppressive ~ I try to remember these sunshine

filled days and warm breezes in January when the arctic cold wind and 20 degree weather is causing all of us to become stir crazy indoors! So, while it lasts, let's enjoy the warm air and sunshine!

July 7th was our 2nd Annual Patriotic Golf Cart Parade and Ice Cream Social. Many thanks to our team of volunteers, Barb and Bill Seils and Sally and Bill Hoffman, who helped make this annual event such a success! It was great fun to see the decorated golf carts on display around our community. Thank you to our generous volunteers and participants.

Each year, Morgan Management graciously sponsors a golf outing for the Special Olympics hosted here at Winding Creek Golf Course. Special Olympics brings the inspiring power of sports to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. It is the mission of Special Olympics to affirm and celebrate the courage, determination, and personal dignity of each of it's Olympi-ans. At this event, each Olympian is assigned a Gypsum Mills resident as a golf mentor to spend the afternoon playing the course and offering some one on one companionship and coaching. This year the outing is scheduled for Monday, August 27th at 2pm. Please join me in prayers for cooperative weather! Gypsum Mills residents Bob and Linda Tuttle are co-hosts for this event. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to them both for donating their time to such a worthwhile and community enriching event.

Save the date of Sunday, August 19th for the Kids’ Back to School Pool and Picnic Party from 3 to 5pm at the Pool Area at Gypsum Mills. This social is sponsored by the Board of Directors and is for children, grandchildren, parents and grandparents of our Gypsum Mills community. Hot dogs, ice cream cups and other kid-friendly fare are on the menu! I look for-ward to seeing everyone on the 19th to celebrate a fantastic summer for our residents and families in our community.

Pickleball is now a reality at Gypsum Mills! Vice President, Diane Crego is responsible for championing the cause to get the (2) Pickleball Courts operational in our community. Addi-tional thanks and recognition go out to: Board Member Ken Ainsworth for painting, striping and operating the machinery used to paint the courts, Larry and Bonnie Corby for sharing their knowledge about pickleball and educating us as to the rules, and to Harold and Betty Karins for their demonstration of the sport. Thank you to each of those mentioned for their efforts to bring Pickleball to Gypsum Mills! I know you will join me in recognizing that without folks like those I've mentioned, much of the spirit and sense of community we have here just would not exist. It is because of the volunteer spirit brought by so many of our residents that we have such great amenities and activities within our community. So once again~ Thank You for all you do to enhance and boost our community.

The FREE RENT PROMOTION is now running through September 6th. Tickets can be pur-chased throughout August and are available at all social events in our community and/or from any board member. Cost of tickets is as follows; $2/each, $5 for 3 tickets, or $10 for 10 tickets. The lucky winner will enjoy free rent for one month! Purchase your tickets and cross your fin-gers for good luck!

Enjoy the remainder of your Summer and I look forward to seeing you on August 19th and on the Pickleball Court!

Fondly, Hugh N. Crowley, President Gypsum Mills
