Offense 39In 6-on-5 presentation 39, the 4-2 rotation into a 3-3 has failed. Skillful passing with a good read of the middle guard creates single coverage on a post for a goal.
The ball’s movement around the 6-on-5 causes X-2, the middle guard, to move back and forth between the right and left posts. Eventually, X-2 is slow to cover the right 3 post. 4 passes the ball to the open 3 for the score.

Offense 40In 6-on-5 presentation 40, the 6-on-5 offense fails to get an open man with the rotation and a 2-on-1 situation advantage. Now the offense turns to get single coverage on the post by beating X-2, the middle guard, with ball on the post by beating X-2, the middle guard, with ball movement. X-2 cannot swim faster than the ball.
The ball is passed until the middle guard X-2 is beaten and one of the post players is open. The outside passers read the defense and pass to the open post.
Offense 40The 1-6-5-2 passing sequence creates single coverage on the left 2-post for a difficult 5-2 pass. This is one of most difficult passes to throw in water polo.
