IN 2013 DIRTY FEET
MISSIONS WAS STARTED BY
THE SPARK THAT MISSIONS
CREATES IN THE HEARTS
AND LIVES OF OTHERS.
FROM THEN: TO NOW:
Para Servir teaches hands-on missions training. We
teach our interns what every aspect of missionary life
looks like, including fundraising, working in the field
with locals, market shopping, team building,
communication skills, in-depth Bible studies, living in
community and so much more.
We have witnessed young women coming out of
high school and college discover what it means to live
outside of themselves, to live for something greater, to
spend their lives on behalf of humanity and spread the
name and love of Jesus. We have seen young women
begin to live their lives on the mission field and to
transfer their earthly calling into one that also has an
impact on eternity.
Each year, the Para Servir interns raise the funds
necessary to provide a home for one family in need. So
far that's four houses that have been paid for and built
by the DFM Para Servir Interns!
Four years ago, inspired by a
passion to see real life
transformation in others, Para
Servir [to serve] was born. Para
Servir is an annual 6-week
internship that inspires,
equips, transforms,
encourages, excites and
challenges young women to
embrace their God-given
destinies.
UPLIFT, ENCOURAGE, EMPOWER...
LILIAN JESUSITA
Partnering with Porch de Salomon, our nine
interns raised $9,500 for a home for Lilian
Jesusita Chumil and her family. Having been
abandoned by her husband while she was
pregnant with her fourth child, Lilian worked
hard hand-washing clothes and doing other
odd jobs to provide for her family. She earned
$28 per month. This family lived in a single
room with a dirt-floor and "tin" walls covered
with leaky, perforated metal as a roof. They had
no electricity, running water, or sanitation
facilities (toilet). The deplorable living
conditions contributed to the children's poor
health. Thanks to our interns and generous
supporters like you they now have a safe and
warm home to live in, they know the love of
Jesus and that someone cares about them!
PARA SERV IR 2018 BRINGS
CHANGE
In order to continue this work of Para Servir and grow
our vision for the nations, DFM has purchased a home
in Guatemala and is now working towards paying it
off. This home provides a safe place for our interns to
live while they participate in the internship and the
building of homes for families like Lilian's. It provides
a place to live in community, cook meals and eat
around the table where we discuss the
transformation that is taking place in their lives and
the lives of others like Lilian and her family. It's a place
to meet, to share in Bible study and missionary
training. A place to be prepared for a life of taking the
love of Jesus to others.
WE HAVE SO MANY STORIES OF INTERNS WHO HAVE BEEN EQUIPPED AND ARE NOW MISSIONARIES IN
OTHER COUNTRIES OR ARE WORKING IN JOBS THAT DIRECTLY SERVE THOSE IN NEED.
OUR DFM HOUSE
In addition, our home provides our full-time
volunteer, Leigh, a safe place to call home as she
fulfills the call of God on her life and sows in to the
lives of those in need in Guatemala. We also use the
house for our Mayan Women in Transition project.
Hilda is an indigenous Mayan woman who, prior to
living in the DFM house, took care of her family on her
small income. We have provided her with a school
scholarship, a safe place to live, friendship and the
hope of a better future. Hilda now spends her life
serving others as the Humanitarian Relief Co-Director
for Porch de Salomon. With your help we want to give
more women in transition this opportunity, provide
more full-time missionaries a home to live in while
they fulfill the call of God on their lives, and provide a
place where interns can come and learn practical life
skills that will enable them to do the work of
missions.
SEEING FRUIT IN HAITIFor the past 6 years we have consistently invested in the lives
of 36 children at Hope House Haiti. Hope House is a home for
orphaned children operated by Pierre Richard and Yvrose
Ismael. Our work in Haiti also includes helping support the
free school Hope House provides for children K-9. Hope
House Academy currently provides free education and a daily
meal for over 900 children. We take part in helping fund
scholarships for the teachers and sustainability projects, as
well as helping to supply the man-power to complete
construction projects including a chicken house, two
bathrooms, a well, a fish hatchery and a church. We plan to
continue taking teams to Haiti and sharing our passion to
help others as we share the love of Christ!
Currently Hope House Academy is in desperate need of
more teacher scholarships. Education and daily meals
are free to students and the teachers and administrators
are paid by sponsorships from donors. Some teachers
have 105 students in their classes. That means by
sponsoring a teacher for a month, your $150 donation
would be providing a free education for 105 students.
These teachers are dedicated to their students and
training the future leaders of Haiti! Many of them go
unpaid for months, but they still show up to teach their
students because they know the difference it is making. THANK YOU 2018 TEAMS!
We want to extend a big thank you to everyone
who participated in our 1-week trips to Haiti and
Guatemala this year. Thank you for sharing in our
vision and our mission! Your participation means
so much to us, the organizations we partner with
and the people you served. Together we made a
difference in Haiti and Guatemala during 2018.
Here are some highlights from both trips:
Guatemala medical team saw and treated 369
patients during three days of clinics, including
one woman suspected to have advanced
breast cancer (Thank you everyone who
donated to purchase medication for this trip!)
Guatemala construction team helped build
two homes for two very special families in
need, one escaping domestic violence and the
other struggling with health problems
Haiti team helped Hope House Haiti prepare
for the start of the school year to welcome
over 900 students by cleaning classrooms,
painting desks and more
Haiti team delivered much needed backpacks
to children at HHH and CAD orphanage (Thank
you everyone who donated towards this!)
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
We love the work that we do on our own and
the awesome chances we get to partner with
others, like Porch de Salomon, in Guatemala.
2018 has been a year of immense growth for
us! We see the impact first hand that it makes
in the lives of our interns and the lives of those
in need in Guatemala. We are extremely
grateful that you choose us to partner with and
that you are a part of our Dirty Feet family! We
want to continue sowing into the lives of
young women so that they may go out and
pour into the lives of others. We need your
financial support to own our home and make it
a permanent fixture of our ministry in
Guatemala. Pray about what you can do to
make a difference. Would you be willing to
make a special year-end donation or $50, $100
or whatever you can afford to help us toward
our continued work in Guatemala?

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN
HAIT I
Partnering with Hope House Haiti for the past
six years has brought us great joy! We are
grateful for the opportunity to continue
partnering with them and sowing into the
work they are doing in Haiti. Hope House Haiti
is a fixture of its community, providing aid and
support through education and sustainable
farming practices. They are bringing the love of
Jesus to the people there! Join us in furthering
their mission to share the love of Jesus and lift
up the people of Haiti. You can do this by
praying for our Haitian family at Hope House as
well as making a donation. As we mentioned
before, the greatest need of Hope House at the
moment is for support for their teachers. There
are 14 teachers still without sponsorships! Pray
about what you can do to make a difference in
the lives of others.
DONORS LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN HAITI FOR 6 YEARS NOW! THANK
YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
