THE SAME AS IN THE DAYS OF THE FLOODMatthew 24:37-44
2 SR 14 The antediluvian world sinned against the Holy Ghost, because they believed not in the message
of truth sent to save them from the dreadful flood. Therefore, they perished under sin that shall never be forgiven
them. The same is true when one revolts against the divine message in any generation. Men are not condemned
because they have sinned, but they are condemned when they turn a deaf ear to the divine call that is to save
them from their sin. (2 SR 14)
2 TG 24:19 There is no forgiveness for sinning against the Holy Ghost, against Inspiration, because once
rejected there is nothing else by which a sinner can be brought to Christ. Consequently there is no more hope for
such a one, for there is nothing more that Heaven can do to awaken him to his poverty, and hence no more
remedy, no forgiveness of sin. (2 TG 24:19)
2 SR 130 The Jews reasoned as most Christians do at the present time. They took the position that they
were wise and well favored of God, even though they had rejected every ray of light, and completely despised
the entreaties and mercies of Jehovah. Their misconception of Gods truth, and prejudice against light upon the
word of God, robbed them of wisdom and knowledge of the Most High, until they were finally led into terrible
sin and condemnation. When they rejected the message borne to them by the apostles with the power of the HolySpirit, they sinned against the Holy Ghost, and thereby closed the only channel through which God could
communicate with them. (2 SR 130)
1 Ans. 46 In all diligence, therefore, give heed to any supernatural manifestation in the church of God,
irrespective of source, whether it be human or brute, small or great, black or white, rich or poor. Unbiasedly
compare its work with the Scriptures, and if it is in harmony with them, if it finds its foundation and prediction
there, makes men loyal to the law and to the prophets, and adds light to the present truth, accept it whatever the
cost in money, property, position, friends, and relatives, for it is your very life. He who will prove faithful in this
responsibility will receive a hundredfold for the sacrifice it has cost him to be true to the Lords voice (Matt.
19:29).
But to be true, and thus to save oneself from the unpardonable sin, one must be constantly on guard. And this
he can do only by prayerfully investigating the spirit that purports to come in the name of the Lord. Failing to do
this, he stands in greatest peril of rejecting the pleading of the Holy Ghost (Inspiration), and thus of indifferently
tossing away his very life. (1 Ans. 46)
Only through the channel of Inspiration, can our God communicate His people, interpret the Scriptures to
reveal the truth and unmask error. Therefore, such objection against the manifestation of Inspiration is instigated
by the spirit of the devil, Satans subversives have sought to sever lines of communication between the Spirit of
Truth and the people of God. (3 Ans. 29, 30; WHR 54)
2 SR 100, 101 Just such ignorance of Gods Word in the days of Noah brought the world to its destruction
by water. A similar wicked condition reduced to ashes the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. If in the days of
Christ, just such hypocrisy, under the appearance of virtue, required the life of the Son of God to preserve the
world from destruction, what would the outcome be at this present time? God cannot destroy the world, for He
has a multitude to save. He has no other Son for a gift to the church, for Christ is the only begotten Son of
God. If Gods ideal is to bless the world through the medium of His church on earth, and they to whom the
gospel for the world is committed have left the sheep and are serving the devil, in the person of themselves,
where is the hope of the world? (2 SR 100, 101)
2 SR 69 It was the Jewish church that had apostatized, and that is what made the Biblical number seven
heads. Just such an apostasy had gripped the world in the days of Noah; and its wickedness made the
continuation of the world impossible. Therefore, necessity, for the good of mankind, brought about the flood.
The terrible apostasy of the Jews made unavoidable another disaster similar to the dreadful deluge. As God couldnot overthrow the world by water the second time, and yet keep His never failing promise to his faithful servant
Noah, He sent His Son to die in the worlds stead. Therefore, the world perished not, because of the supreme
sacrifice of the Son of God; and the world exists today because Christ arose from the dead. (2 SR 69)

2 SR 100 It is open disobedience to the plain thus saith the Lord that has brought about confusion and
disgrace in the Christian world at the present time. True the reformers saw not all these errors, and were not
responsible, for they had no light upon them. As God has given light upon His Word, by degrees, making it
possible to grasp the truth, He expects us to receive it, and thus lead us to the victory.
But one may say, if God could save others with less light, why should He give us more light? Of the many
reasons we shall comment on only two. By increased light on the Word, God is able to save a multitude instead
of a few. The second reason is, as the last part of the church will be translated instead of resurrected, we need
sufficient light to prepare us to meet God and immortal beings. (2 SR 100)
One of the many reasons why did our God sent more sufficient light in our days, it so because we are destined
for translation, rather than resurrection. The past generations although they had less light but are preserved
through the death of Christ, and the resurrection of Christ, according to 2 SR 69. But since the living saints, are
no longer to experience grave and resurrection, God bestowed them sufficient light to meet immortal beings,
according to 2 SR 100.
1T 349 I then saw a company pressing through the crowd with their eyes intently fixed upon the heavenly
crown. As they earnestly urged their way through the disorderly crowd, angels attended them, and made room for
them to advance. As they neared the heavenly crown, the light emanating from it shone upon them and around
them, dispelling their darkness, and growing clearer and brighter, until they seemed to be transformed, andresembled the angels. (1T 349)
But sad to say, Inspiration declared:
2 TG 11:10 At the times when new truths have been introduced millions have lost out only because they
were too well satisfied with what they had. They saw need of nothing better, or else they were too proud to
accept unpopular Truth from one of Gods own appointed messengers. Thus it is that when God sends a message,
rather than it being to them a step upward toward salvation, it has been and still is to many a step downward
toward damnation. To this end was the prophet instructed: ...Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but
understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy,
and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, andconvert, and be healed. Isa. 6:9, 10. (2 TG 11:10)
2 SR 183, 184 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with
him to the marriage; and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto
us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. As the foolish virgins at last came to the
door, it is evident that they obtained the oil (learned of the message), but there had been a delay -- the door was
shut, and they were left out. Now, why were they unconcerned at first, and very zealous at last? The experience
in this instance is about the same as that of the deluge. While Noah preached the coming of the flood, the world
paid little attention to this message; but those who believed, went into the ark at a given time and the door was
closed. But not long afterwards, signs of Noahs prediction appeared; and as drops of rain began to fall the
wicked multitude became alarmed and rushed for the ark, but the door was closed and they were left out. The
door that was shut, is a symbol showing that probation for the church had closed just shortly after the foolishvirgins became alarmed. At last they were willing to pay the price and buy the oil; but it was not a change of
heart, only the fear of losing out. Their course of action had left them without the seal -- the man with the
writers inkhorn had passed them by. What a terrible mistake! What a disappointment! Almost saved, but
entirely lost! (2 SR 183, 184)
Our reading plainly compared, the closing of the ark to the close of probation in the church. Inspiration
declared clearly, that those who believed, went into the ark at a given time, and the door was closed. Who
are they that went into the ark?
The Bible plainly told us, that there were only 8 souls who entered the ark. (1 Peter 3:20). The statement
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away (Matthew 24:39), cannot be applied to the 8 soulswho entered the ark, for they know it. The statement went into the ark at a given time, plainly indicates that
there was a given time. Now, let us read

GC page 323 Another kind of evidence that vitally affected my mind, he says, was the chronology of the
Scriptures.... I found that predicted events, which had been fulfilled in the past, often occurred within a given
time. The one hundred and twenty years to the flood (Genesis 6:3); the seven days that were to precede it, with
forty days of predicted rain (Genesis 7:4); the four hundred years of the sojourn of Abrahams seed (Genesis
15:13); the three days of the butlers and bakers dreams (Genesis 40:12-20); the seven years of Pharaohs
(Genesis 41:28-54); the forty years in the wilderness (Numbers 14:34); the three and a half years of famine (1
Kings 17:1) [see Luke 4:25;]... the seventy years captivity (Jeremiah 25:11); Nebuchadnezzars seven times
(Daniel 4:13-16); and the seven weeks, threescore and two weeks, and the one week, making seventy weeks,
determined upon the Jews (Daniel 9:24-27),--the events limited by these times were all once only a matter ofprophecy, and were fulfilled in accordance with the predictions. (GC page 323)
The voice of Inspiration declared clearly that predicted events, which had been fulfilled in the past often
occurred within a given time, that the events limited by these times were all once only a matter of prophecy,
and were fulfilled in accordance with the predictions. Now, let us read
1 SM 62-64 THE SHUT DOORDEFINED
It is claimed that these expressions prove the shut-door doctrine, and that this is the reason of their omission in
later editions. But in fact they teach only that which has been and is still held by us as a people, as I shall show.
For a time after the disappointment in 1844, I did hold, in common with the advent body, that the door of
mercy was then forever closed to the world. This position was taken before my first vision was given me. It was
the light given me of God that corrected our error, and enabled us to see the true position.
I am still a believer in the shut-door theory, but not in the sense in which we at first employed the term or in
which it is employed by my opponents.
There was a shut door in Noahs day. There was at that time a withdrawal of the Spirit of God from the sinful
race that perished in the waters of the Flood. God Himself gave the shut-door message to Noah:
My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred andtwenty years (Genesis 6:3).
There was a shut door in the days of Abraham. Mercy ceased to plead with the inhabitants of Sodom, and all
but Lot, with his wife and two daughters, were consumed by the fire sent down from heaven.
There was a shut door in Christs day. The Son of God declared to the unbelieving Jews of that generation,
Your house is left unto you desolate (Matthew 23:38).
Looking down the stream of time to the last days, the same infinite power proclaimed through John:
These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man
shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth (Revelation 3:7).
I was shown in vision, and I still believe, that there was a shut door in 1844. All who saw the light of the first
and second angels messages and rejected that light, were left in darkness. And those who accepted it and
received the Holy Spirit which attended the proclamation of the message from heaven, and who afterward
renounced their faith and pronounced their experience a delusion, thereby rejected the Spirit of God, and it no
longer pleaded with them.
Those who did not see the light, had not the guilt of its rejection. It was only the class who had despised the
light from heaven that the Spirit of God could not reach. And this class included, as I have stated, both those who
refused to accept the message when it was presented to them, and also those who, having received it, afterward
renounced their faith. These might have a form of godliness, and profess to be followers of Christ; but having noliving connection with God, they would be taken captive by the delusions of Satan. These two classes are brought
to view in the vision--those who declared the light which they had followed a delusion, and the wicked of the
world who, having rejected the light, had been rejected of God. No reference is made to those who had not seen
the light, and therefore were not guilty of its rejection. (1 SM 62-64)

Inspiration declared: God Himself gave the shut-door message to Noah; My Spirit shall not always strive
with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. (Gen. 6:3). Therefore, the
given time mentioned in 2 SR 183, must be the shut-door message. And such shut-door message was given even
before Noah did start building the ark.
2 TG 12:31 How, then, can you and I afford to let our salvation slip from our grasp? How can we afford to
be careless and indifferent to these most solemn words in all the history of man-kind? Shall we not prepare to
meet our God in peace? Shall we not now as wise virgins fill our vessels with this light-giving oil so as to be able
to refill our lamps? Or shall we as fools neglect our opportunity, and thus be hindered from arriving at the doorbefore it is closed against us? How terrible even the thought of hearing the Master from within say, Depart from
Me, I never knew you. (2 TG 12:31)
1 TG 31:5 That is, in the day of the Branch (in the Christian period), in the day this family tree is
completed, then it is that the kingdom of peace (the church purified) sprouts, so to speak, from the ground up. It
then stands for an ensign to the people, and to It shall the Gentiles seek for salvation. Plainly, then, this old
family tree, Kingdom, is to be set up while probation lasts. Moreover, the place where it is to stand (rest) shall be
glorious. It is therefore to have Its own location, and Its own boundary line. It is to be for the gathering of the
people, the ark of today as was Noahs ark in Noahs day. (1 TG 31:5)
2 TG 31:9 As Noahs ark preserved every living thing that was to inhabit the earth after the flood, in likemanner the restored Kingdom of Judah and Israel is to gather and preserve from the plagues every living thing
that is to inhabit the new earth; the Kingdom restored is to be the ark in our day, and her people shall live and
reign a thousand years with Christ (Rev. 20:4), and finally return when the earth is made new. (2 TG 31:9)
2 SR 245, 246 As God declared the danger to the Old world by the preaching of Noah in one generation,
just so has He forewarned the world of its end in this generation. As provision was made before the flood for
those who wished to escape the ruin, just so He has provided means and facilities for all who wish to evade the
doom that confronts our world. Not to enter into an ark built by the hands of man, No, no, that was only a figure;
but into many mansions prepared by the Lord himself; not into an ark floating over mad waters; but into
mansions resting on foundations of precious stones. The dreaded flood is a type of the dark millennium. As
Gods faithful people were saved then, so shall they be saved now; but the sinner now, shall perish as the sinnerthen. (2 SR 245, 246)
The voice of Inspiration declared clearly that the pre-millennial kingdom and the New Jerusalem are
antitypical ark.Now let us read
2 SR 252 A computation of like manner was employed to define the year of jubilee. Said the Lord: And
thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven
sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years. (Lev. 25:8). The fiftieth year while the land rested
being also a type of the millennium (showing that the land shall keep a Sabbath-rest), a like computation is used.
Therefore, at the beginning of the thousand years is the commencement of the jubilee in its anti-type. And as the
land was returned to the lawful owners in the typical year of jubilee, just so it will be in the anti-typical --
returned to the saints. Thy people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of myplanting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. (Isa. 60:21). (2 SR 252)
The SROD declared the number of years from one jubilee to another was determined by multiplying the
seven sabbatical years by seven, the sum of which is 49. (1934 Tract 3 pg. 67) And the 50th year, must be the
year of jubilee. And according to Inspiration, Christ second coming would be in the year of jubilee. In the
millennium the New Jerusalem being the antitypical ark, it must be the 120th jubilee. Thus 120 x 50 = 6,000.Let
us read
2 SR 212 This present world, from creation to its end or the beginning of the millennium, shall number
6,000 years. (2 SR 212)
6 BC 1055 1-4 (ch. 1:8, 9; Ephesians 4:8). Christs Promise Fulfilled.--The time had now come. The
Spirit had been waiting for the crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension of Christ. For ten days the disciples
offered their petitions for the outpouring of the Spirit, and Christ in heaven added His intercession. This was the
occasion of His ascension and inauguration, a jubilee in heaven. He had ascended on high, leading captivity
7/27/2019 The Same as in the Days of the Flood
6/17
captive, and He now claimed the gift of the Spirit, that He might pour it out upon His disciples ( SW Nov. 28,
1905). (6 BC 1055)
It is clear as sunlight that Christs crucifixion, resurrection and ascension, occurred in the year of jubilee.
Now, let us read
1934 Tract 3 pg. 71 Therefore, our symbolical number of the Bible time, 600, must be multiplied by 10.
Thus, 600 x 10 = 6,000 years of probationary time. This proves the length of time Christ will be a Savior for
sinners; and that our sinful world will be 6,000 years old when probation closes; and that we are living in thetime of the end. It also proves that Christ is the only Savior of the world, in perfect harmony with the word: For
there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12) (1934 Tract
3 pg. 71)
Spiritual Gifts Vol. 3 p. 301 The Lord first established the system of sacrificial offerings with Adam after
his fall, which he taught to his descendants. This system was corrupted before the flood by those who separated
themselves from the faithful followers of God, and engaged in the building of the Tower of Babel. Spiritual
Gifts vol. 3 p. 301 (8 SC 1-12:19).
GC 327, 328 In the midst of the week He shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. In A.D. 31,
three and a half years after His baptism, our Lord was crucified. With the great sacrifice offered upon Calvary, ended that system of offerings which for four thousand years had pointed forward to the Lamb of God. Type had
met antitype, and all the sacrifices and oblations of the ceremonial system were there to cease. (GC 327, 328)
To ascertain clearly the definite time by which such 4,000 years did commence let us take it by days.
Therefore, 4,000 360 = 1,440,000 days.
April 16, 3970 B.C. = 344 days
3969 years 360 days = 1,428,840 days
30 years 360 days = 10,800 days
April 16, 31 A.D. = 16 days
1,440,000 days
Then to find or locate the year of jubilee, let us multiply 40 50 = 2000. Then, 2000 360 days = 720,000
days.
Then, 720,000 652,496 days = 67,504 days
April 16, 3970 B.C. 4000 Years April 16, 31 A.D.From April 16, 3970 B.C. up to April 16, 31 A.D. there were exactly 4,000 years, according to GC 327,
328. And that year, according to 6 BC 1055 is the year of jubilee the year ofA.D. 31. Therefore, 4,000
50 = 80. A.D. 31 is the 80th
jubilee, the age of Moses during the Passover in Egypt. Then obvious it is
there would be 40 remaining jubilees, to complete the 120 jubilees, the New Jerusalem being the
antitypical Ark the millennium will commence in the year of jubilee. [2 SR 252]
April 16, 31 A.D. 556,794 days Oct. 4, 1582 A.D.
Oct. 15, 1582 A.D. 95,702 days Oct. 22, 1844 A.D.
652,496 days
Oct. 22, 1844 A.D. 67,504 days Aug. 19, 2029 A.D.
Aug. 19, 2029 A.D. Aug. 13, 2030 A.D.
From Aug. 19, 2029 A.D. up to Aug. 13, 2030 A.D. would be the year of jubilee. Therefore, within this
period of time Christs second visible coming would occur. Although we do not know in what month that
would be, but assuredly Christs second visible coming would take place within this year of jubilee.
7/27/2019 The Same as in the Days of the Flood
7/17
Now, let us read
GC 370, 371 No man knoweth the day nor the hour was the argument most often brought forward by
rejecters of the advent faith. The scripture is: Of that day and hour knoweth no man, no not the angels of
heaven, but My Father only. Matthew 24:36. A clear and harmonious explanation of this text was given by
those who were looking for the Lord, and the wrong use made of it by their opponents was clearly shown. The
words were spoken by Christ in that memorable conversation with His disciples upon Olivet after He had for the
last time departed from the temple. The disciples had asked the question: What shall be the sign of Thy coming,
and of the end of the world? Jesus gave them signs, and said: When ye shall see all these things, know that it isnear, even at the doors. Verses 3, 33. One saying of the Saviour must not be made to destroy another. Though
no man knoweth the day nor the hourof His coming, we are instructed and required to know when it is near. We
are further taught that to disregard His warning, and refuse or neglect to know when His advent is near, will be as
fatal for us as it was for those who lived in the days of Noah not to know when the flood was coming. And the
parable in the same chapter, contrasting the faithful and the unfaithful servant, and giving the doom of him who
said in his heart, My Lord delayeth His coming, shows in what light Christ will regard and reward those whom
He finds watching, and teaching His coming, and those denying it. Watch therefore, He says. Blessed is that
servant, whom his Lord when He cometh shall find so doing. Verses 42, 46. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I
will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Revelation 3:3. (GC 370,
371)
2 SR 178 While the Saviour has clearly pointed out the nearness of His coming to the generation that shall
witness all these signs, He has not left us in darkness as to how long it will be from the time of the fulfillment of
these signs to that great and glorious event, for He added: This generation [the one that has seen the signs] shall
not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. (Matt. 24:34). As the generation spoken of by the Master is about to
pass away, and the kingdom of everlasting life ushered in, the searcher of truth should not neglect his opportunity
by allowing things of lesser importance to occupy his mind, or time. (2 SR 178)
It would have been unreasonable and an injustice to the chosen people of God if He should have left them in
darkness concerning the time of the most important event of all church history the coming of Christ. (2 SR
242) Thus it was shown that Scripture gives no warrant for men to remain in ignorance concerning the nearness
of Christs coming. But those who desired only an excuse to reject the truth closed their ears to this explanation, and the words No man knoweth the day nor the hour continued to be echoed by the bold scoffer and even by
the professed minister of Christ. As the people were roused, and began to inquire the way of salvation, religious
teachers stepped in between them and the truth, seeking to quiet their fears by falsely interpreting the word of
God. Unfaithful watchmen united in the work of the great deceiver, crying, Peace, peace, when God had not
spoken peace. Like the Pharisees in Christs day, many refused to enter the kingdom of heaven themselves, and
those who were entering in they hindered. The blood of these souls will be required at their hand. (GC 372)
Let us not however forget, that the preaching of a definite time for the Judgment, in the giving of the first
message, was ordered of God (GC 457). The proclamation of a definite time for Christs coming called forth
great opposition from many of all classes, from the ministers in the pulpit down to the most reckless, heaven-
daring sinner (GC 370). Let us be Gods real people, logical thinkers, not bait hunters. (2 TG 24:23). Any
thinker knows that to have made known the truth of it before time, would have left it as vain, valueless, andineffective. (1 SR p.e. 9). But the SROD plainly declared It would have been unreasonable and an injustice
to the chosen people of God if He should have left them in darkness concerning the time of the most important
event of all church history -- the coming of Christ. (2 SR 242) Indeed, though the Scriptures do say that even
the angels know notthe hour, yet if they are ever to be ready to start out with the Lord upon His second advent,
certainly they must someday beforehand be told of it in order to make ready and to start out. And although no
man now knows the day or hour, yet if the Father sees fit to declare it, we cannot but know it. (2 Ans. 23)
Let us read
1 Ans. 49, 50 Such a case was John the Baptists. Inspired to declare only the coming of the King, John
was squarely confronted with the question concerning the setting up of the kingdom. He answered in keepingwith the common understanding which he as well as the people had of the kingdom--that when the King arrived
He would doubtless set up His kingdom and thus free His people from the Roman yoke. But when Christ finally
appeared, He explained that the time for the kingdom to be set up, and for the Roman yoke to be removed from
His peoples shoulders, was not yet come. And the truly wise gave no concern to these discrepant teachings,
7/27/2019 The Same as in the Days of the Flood
8/17
but gladly accepted the truth in its progressive form, and went on to higher and higher spiritual attainments,
whereas those who stumbled on this disparity either rejected John as a false prophet and accepted Jesus as the
Christ, or accepted John as a true prophet and rejected Jesus as a false Christ, and consequently slipped farther
and farther backwards and downwards until they were no longer followers of either Christ or John. (1 Ans. 49,50)
Let us keep advancing in the light, and for certain we shall finally stand on Mt. Zion with the Lamb. (1 TG
8:28). For, It is the follow on and the go through spirit that will finally land the remnant without fault on
the heavenly Mt. Zion (7 SC 7-12:19).Inspiration declared
3 TR 91 The most common cause of doctrinal confusion among Bible students lies in their so very
frequently failing to view a subject in full perspective from the writers point of view, -- a failing which results in
their seeing it from some foreign standpoint so narrowing their view that instead of gaining the writers idea on
the subject, they gain a false idea on it. And if the idea be to their liking, they magnify and zealously promote it
as truth, whereas if it be not to their liking, they vigorously oppose it, and then lay it to the responsibility of the
writer! (3 TR 91)
The mere fact, that E.G. White herself, declared: Thus it was shown that Scripture gives no warrant for men
to remain in ignorance concerning the nearness of Christ coming (GC 372), implicitly shows that the principal
reason that she did continually rebuke those who did persist in speculating Christs visible coming is that the timeof such revelation is not in the message of the third angel. The preaching of a definite time which was ordered of
God is found in the first angels message, and not on the third angels message (GC 457). Besides, we are not
preaching the definite time of Christ second visible coming. The only thing we knew that it is getting near is
through the years of jubilee, in which according to the SROD it was given by God to define existence of time.
(1934 Tract 3 pg. 67) We do not pretend in what month that would be. The only thing we are certain is that
Christs second visible coming will occur in the year of jubilee, according to 2 SR 252.Now, lets turn to
THE SIGNS OF THE KINGDOM
2TG44:44 The signs of the Kingdom, you see, are even more important for one to observe than are the
signs of Christs coming. If one should miss the signs of the Kingdom, then the knowledge of the signs ofChrists coming would profit nothing, for all such will be frightened at His appearing and say to the mountains
and rocks. Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the
Lamb; for the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Rev. 6:16, 17.
Are the efforts to set up the pre-millennial Kingdom -- the purified church -- accompanied by great signs and
wonders, by noise and pomp? To this question the Lord answers--
Matt. 13:31-33 -- The Kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in
his field: which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh
a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof. Another parable spake He unto them;
The Kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the
whole was leavened.
Zech. 4:6 -- Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
Not a blast or a boom, and not a bust either, but the plain, quiet Truth, Brothers, Sisters, is what saves you and
brings the Kingdom into being. (2 TG 44:44)
1 TG 15:20 The Jews wanted a kingdom of their own, a kingdom of this world (saint and sinner in it). Yes,
they wanted a kingdom on earth, but none in Heaven. What is more, they wanted it two thousand years ahead of
schedule. Now, ironically, in the time of the restoration of the Kingdom, the Denomination takes an opposite
attitude: It wants a kingdom in Heaven, but none on earth. Indeed, it wants to board the chariot from Takoma
Park. And besides while the Lord says He is to save nations, the Denomination says He is to save only 144,000living sons of Jacob, and consequently none of the sons of other nations! (1 TG 15:20)

2 Ans. 84, 85 SATANS CONSTANT TARGET, THE PEOPLES REPEATED STUMBLING BLOCK.
That the great controversy between Christ and Satan is over this crowning hope, the Kingdom, is seen from
the Lords repeated instructions in the prophecies, in the types, and in the parables; from Satans constant effort
to keep the human race out of it; and last, from human beings repeatedly being defeated in their warfare to
become heirs of it.
Working determinedly from the beginning to plunge all humanity into hell, Satan conceived his majorstrategy of misleading them concerning the Kingdom. He succeeded with most of the Jews because they wanted
the Kingdom set up before its appointed time or not at all. And he is succeeding with many of the Laodiceans
today because now, when the time appointed actually has come, they want to have it later or not at all! What a
paradox! What an irony! Indeed, as history repeats itself, so does folly! (2 Ans. 84, 85)
When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory. (Psalms 102:16). Thou shalt arise, and
have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. (Psalms 102:13). Inspiration

1 TG 25:4 Although Micah forespoke sad news for ancient Judah, he forespoke this joyful news for Judah
of the latter days. Trying, indeed, must it have been for Judah to look forward to her own destruction.Conversely, though, it must have encouraged her to know that the time would come for her to return and to
build the old waste places, to raise up the foundations of many generations (Isa. 58:12). And still more joyful
should she now be to learn that the time for her returning to God and to the homeland has actually come! (1 TG
25:4).
What a wonderful statement, saying And still more joyful should she now be to learn that the time for her
returning to God and to the homeland has actually come! (1 TG 25:4).Inspiration declared
2 TG 31:3, 4 Shall this returning be unexpected? or shall the Lord first send someone to prepare His way?
And if someone is to precede His coming, who will it be? -- And he answered and told them, Elias verily
cometh first, and restoreth all things. Mark 9:12. The Lord, moreover, through the prophet Malachi declares:
Mal. 3:1; 4:5-- Behold, I will send My messenger, and he shall prepare the way before Me: and the Lord,
Whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in:
behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.... Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of
the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
Here the Scriptures point out that someone in the spirit and power of Elijah the prophet is first to appear, and
will not only prepare the way, but will also restore all things. Plainly, the message of Elijah shall restore all
things in the great and dreadful day of the Lord, the day of restitution, the day the Lord comes to His temple, the
Church. The spirit of Elijah was a spirit against idolatry, and his power was a power to destroy those who led in
idolatry, and to bring about purity. (2 TG 31:3, 4)
We should not however forget, that only antitypical Elijah who can open to our understanding all the
prophecies of the Scriptures pertaining to the great and dreadful day of the Lord (GCS 19). If the Holy Spirit that
never dies, without living human channel is inactive, cannot perform His work apart from man to interpret the
Scriptures (2 TG24:23, 24), then how much more for a dead prophet to interpret the Scriptures. Such statement
that only antitypical Elijah can open our understanding, and if it is applied to V.T. Houteff, at this time it utters
impossibility to perform such task while he is lying unconscious in his grave. Inevitably, then, without his
message (the message of antitypical Elijah the Tishbite), we would die in our ignorance and in our sins never
live to see the restoration completed (GCS 20). Since the deliverance of Gods people will occur in the year of
jubilee (SR 409, 410), and being an antitypical ark, the kingdom restored (1 TG 31:5), it must also be the 120th
jubilee.
THE SUN DIAL OF AHAZ
Isaiah 38:8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of
Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

2 Kings 20:9-11 And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing
that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?
Verse 10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the
shadow return backward ten degrees.
Verse 11 And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward,
by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.
Hezekiah the son of Ahaz, the 13th
king of Judah. He reigned 29 years according to 2 Ki. 18:2; 2 Chron. 29:1,
from 726 B.C. 697 B.C., in the third year of king Hoshea, the last king of Israel. King Hezekiah begun to reign
at the age of 25. In 702 B.C. at the 24th
year of Hezekiahs reign at the age of 49, he was sick unto death. But
God heal his disease and his life was added 15 years. (2 Ki. 20:1-6).
Notice, when king Hezekiah was sick, king Ahaz was already dead. And yet the word of God called it as the
sun dial of Ahaz. (Isaiah 38:8). The wife of king Hezekiah is Hephzibah, the mother of Manasseh king of
Judah (2 Ki. 21:1).Now, let us read
ISAIAH 62:1-5
Verse 1 For Zions sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalems sake I will not rest, until the
righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp thatburneth.
Verse 2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a
new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.
Verse 3 Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy
God.
Verse 4 Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: butthou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be
married.
Verse 5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth
over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.
Here we can plainly see, that such historical event is typological. And the name Hephzibah meaning God
married the land, was an illustration of the kingdom restored. And the very name Hezekiah being of8 letters
completely shows of the period of the eighth church in the New Testament succession the house of David (1
Ans. 33). The close and sacred relation of God to His people is represented under the figure of marriage ( PP
306).
4 TR 38 Hos. 2:16 And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord, thatthou shalt call Me Ishi; and shalt call
Me no more Baali.
She shall then no longer call Him my Lord, but rather my Husband (margin). The relationship of a
husband being closer than that of a lord, it denotes an elevation to a more intimate connection and walk with
God. And that this elevation is the direct result of reformation, is evidenced in the words:
For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their
name. Hos. 2:17. (4 TR 38)
The SROD declared clearly Before they are sealed, those who are to be the inhabitants of Zion (the144,000) think God has forsaken them (1 TG 46:8). And since Gods visitation is represented in the medium of
a prophet, according to 2 TG 26:21, then obvious it is the Jacobite state by which Gods people must have
departed from the Lord (1 TG 46:5), is the period by which God did not send His servant the prophet.

EZEKIEL 12:22-28
Verse 22 Son of man, what is that proverb thatye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged,
and every vision faileth?
Verse 23 Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no
more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.
Verse 24 For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.
Verse 25 For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no
more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord
GOD.
Verse 26 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Verse 27 Son of man, behold, they ofthe house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many days to
come, and he prophesieth of the times that are far off.
Verse 28 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged
any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.

the Investigative Judgment of the Living in the heavenly Sanctuary blotting out of sins. Then 63 10 = 6.3, or
6 years.
Now, let us read.
1 TG 46:7 It matters not where Gods people be, nor under what circumstances they be placed, they shall
nevertheless all hear His servants proclaiming the year of final Jubilee, and all are to be let out free, all are toshare this great ever-increasing spiritual feast. (1 TG 46:7)
There are two subjects involved in this reading, The Jubilee and The Solemn Feast, we admonished the
reader to read our pamphlets concerning both.
The SROD plainly declared, that the truly wise gave no concern to these discrepant teachings, but gladly
accepted the truth in its progressive form (1 Ans. 50). E.G. White plainly told us Thus it was shown that
Scriptures gives no warrant for men to remain in ignorance concerning the nearness of Christs coming (GC
372). One saying of the Saviour must not be made to destroy another. Though no man knoweth the day nor the
hour of His coming, we are instructed and required to know when it is near. We are further taught that to
disregard His warning, and refuse or neglect to know when His advent is near, will be as fatal for us as it was forthose who lived in the days of Noah not to know when the Flood was coming. (GC 371) Why is it that the 8
souls been able to enter the ark? Because, there was a given time (2 SR 183; 1 Peter 3:20). That the flood was
only the fulfillment of the predicted event, of the given time in Gen. 6:3, according to GC page 323.
Therefore, the only reason why E.G. White rebuked sharply those time setters in her days, because right after
the disappointment they are trying to prove that at the end of the 2,300 days and nights Christs visible coming
would occur. And the only reason that Christ did not come in Oct. 22,1844 is that William Millers computation
is in error. And that is why,Inspiration declared:
GC 457 The preaching of a definite time for the judgment, in the giving of the first message, was ordered
of God. The computation of the prophetic periods on which that message was based, placing the close of the
2300 days in the autumn of1844, stands without impeachment. The repeated efforts to find new dates for thebeginning and close of the prophetic periods, and the unsound reasoning necessary to sustain these positions, not
only lead minds away from the present truth, but throw contempt upon all efforts to explain the prophecies. The
more frequently a definite time is set for the second advent, and the more widely it is taught, the better it suits the
purposes of Satan. After the time has passed, he excites ridicule and contempt of its advocates, and thus casts
reproach upon the great advent movement of1843 and 1844. Those who persist in this error will at last fix upon
a date too far in the future for the coming of Christ. Thus they will be led to rest in a false security, and many will
not be undeceived until it is too late. (GC 457)
The SROD declared: It would have been unreasonable and an injustice to the chosen people of God if He
should have left them in darkness concerning the time of the most important event of all church history -- the
coming of Christ (2 SR 242). Indeed, though the Scriptures do say that even the angels know notthe hour, yetif they are ever to be ready to start out with the Lord upon His second advent, certainly they must someday
beforehand be told of it in order to make ready and to start out. And although no man now knows the day or
hour, yet if the Father sees fit to declare it, we cannot but know it. (2 Ans. 23)
