TIME FOR A CHANGE
Mrudul Madaan comments on
joining hands for a ‘New Era’
The last day of the SPSMUN started
with all the delegates in
anticipation of the draft resolution.
The working papers had been
submitted the day before and it
was time for everybody to voice
their concerns. This was a time for
a new beginning for the world, for
all those who wished to bring a
change in this world and for every
one who had faith in humanity.
Firstly, the embassies decided
to be sympathetic for all those
who had lost their lives in armed
conflicts. The people all over the
world had gone through a lot of
pain and hatred. It was time to
stand up for humanity to make
this world a better place to live
in; after all everyone is striving
for global peace.

The Mindset Ready to Change the World Divya Garg reports the final results to
Somalian piracy in SPSMUN’14
The third day started on a slow note
with the delegates deeply lost in
their thoughts and worried about
their draft resolution. Initially
moderated caucus was entertained
on the topic ‘Financial management
in Somalia’. The countries tried their
best to take decisions in their favour.
Finally two draft resolutions headed
by USA and Korea were framed.
Draft resolution by USA suggested
the usage of GPS and smart
container technologies which were
interrogated upon but later agreed.
Certain amendments were made
changing GPS by Radars. The second
resolution mainly focused on
education and increase in revenue
collection for better youth and
decrease in piracy. It was immense
pleasure discussing and finding a
solution to Somalian piracy.

The Concluding Day
Jahnvi Katyal reports about the socio-
economic problems of the world.
The proceedings of the conference
resumed with deliberations on the
pending matters of the previous day.
The conference commenced with the
discussions on the draft resolutions.
The Executive Board interrogated the
delegates. After the breakfast, the
second draft resolution was discussed.
The delegates told the Executive Board
via chits that the clauses were made
without their consent. So, the second
draft resolution was scrapped off. The
conference resulted in many viable
plans and programs for the problems
under focus. The enthusiasm and
commitment of all delegates towards
providing a meaningful contribution
promised a successful implementation
of the ideas and plans resulting from
the deliberations. The conference
concluded with the decision to have
timely meetings in order to assure that
the plans have been put in practice
and are progressing at the desired
pace.

The Beginning, Not the End -Tamanna Singhal reports on the
Security Council
“The world is yours to change, bring
in peace before it’s out of range.” As
the global issues providing peace and
to enhance security in Arctic were
plunged onto the debate the
committee soon gathered up heat!
While the allegations were in blown
horns, the moderated and un-
moderated caucuses discussed
issues ranging from problems faced
by UN peace keeping operations,
humanitarian rights of the people in
the Arctic and the conflicts. “It is
extremely important to introduce
peacekeeping reforms as there are a
number of loopholes in the current
framework.” said the delegate of
USA.
SPS MUN was a great success. This
journey has been a memorable one!

The Master Strokes of the Arabs Pranvi Singh comments on the irrefutable victory of
the JCC Arab Cabinet in The Third Arab-Israeli War of
1967…
On the third and final day of SPS MUN’14, the
ambassadors of Arab countries were informed
that the timeline had again moved forward and
the day was 19 May 1967. They were in a state of
war. All the countries disseminated that they had
declared emergencies in their countries and most
of them blocked the radio outputs so that the
enemy could not track their plans. The ministers
formulated war strategies. An update informed
the assembly of Israel having internal disputes
and the Arabians waged the battle for throttle.
After an intense day of planning, plotting,
profanities and discussions the three day MUN
concluded with the Arab Cabinet’s triumph in
war.
NO COMPROMISE
Aditi Jain explores the third day of the conference in
the midst of warfare of the Israel Cabinet.
The last day rung the bells of the ambassadors
and then a high alert settled in the premises. A
directive was made to which the Minister of
Defense responded, “The directive is like a blunt
pencil, completely pointless.”
A letter was sent to the US president, Mr.
Johnson demanding no further attacks from the
Arab nations. The cabinet pondered upon the
question of compromise of their troops from the
Syrian border and a common consensus was
reached of no compromise on the Israeli military.
The International Press keeps its pens down for the
last time after experiencing 3 fruitful days of war
and debates.
