The dog will then be moved into the appropriate class(es) for the next grade. The dog must be moved into the corresponding number of classes as were entered at the lower grade. has the provisions to do so, competitors will be refunded in the manner in which they had entered the show, but in any event the society will refund fees within 3

months of the show date to all those who had entered and requested a refund within 1 month of the show date.

25. Except for mobility aids, nothing shall be carried in the hand while the dog is under test and food shall not be given to a dog whilst in the ring.

Entry forms must be accompanied by the appropriate fees.

assist the disabled, or dogs required for educational or instructional purposes or by permission of the General Committee. However, at the discretion of the show

society, a dog brought to the show by a spectator may be admitted into the precincts of the dog show, with the proviso that those in charge of the dog sign a

declaration confirming the dog is free from disease and that the dog will be kept under proper control at all times.

32. A pay on the day class will be held if time permits.

Border Collie Classic special information

Participation is open to all Border Collies and Working Sheepdogs.

It is not possible to enter for just the Saturday or just the Sunday. When entering the BCC you are entering for all 6 runs over the two days.

(Friday) Competitors may choose to run up to 3 courses (to be determined by the organisation, depending on the number of entries). Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 in each

class.

(Saturday & Sunday) 2nd & 3rd grade

2nd and 3rd grade run separately on their own courses. All competitors will run 6 courses: 3 Agility (Saturday) and 3 Jumping (Sunday).

On Sunday there will be two finals: the National Team Final and the Individual Grand Final.

The results from the Agility 1, 2 and 3, and the Jumping 1, 2 and 3 will count for a place in the Individual Grand Final. For 3rd grade, the top 10 placed combinations

(= handler & dog) per round will be invited to take part in the Individual Grand Final. For 2nd grade, the winners of each round will be invited to take part in the Individual

Grand Final. This means that the maximum number of participants at this final will be 66. In the event that one or more combinations qualify at two or more courses, the

open spaces will not be filled. The title "BCC2016 Champion" will be awarded to the winner of the Individual Grand Final.

National teams will compete in the National Team Final on Sunday. Each national team consists of the three best 3rd Grade combinations and three best 2nd Grade

combinations from that country. The combinations qualifying for the Team Final are determined by the combined results of the 3 courses run on Saturday, per Grade. If

there are countries with less than 3 participants in 3rd Grade and/or less than 3 participants in 2nd Grade, the organization will combine countries into ad hoc country

teams.

It is not allowed to replace the qualified combinations in a country team, ie. in case of injury. In such a case, the country team will run with less than 6 combinations.

The National Team Final will be an Agility course. To determine the winning country in this Final, only the results of the four best combinations of a national team will

count.

Of all the dogs running finals (team and individual), the chip needs to be checked when leaving the ring. Randomly during the tournament, chips will be checked.

The FCI rules and regulations are applicable to this show (see www.fci.be). Dogs with a height of 43cm or over: category Large. Dogs with the height 35cm or over, but

less than 43cm: category Medium.

In the finals (individual and country) only Large dogs can participate. Medium dogs can compete in the Agility 1, 2 & 3 and Jumping 1, 2 & 3 courses on Saturday and

Sunday, they will have their own ranking and individual final on the Sunday.

The organization reserves the right to refuse entries, and make any alterations they may consider necessary in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

The maximum number of combinations for the 3rd Grade on Saturday and Sunday is 400.

The maximum number of combinations for the 2nd Grade on Saturday and Sunday is 400.

Registration is from 25/03/2017 until 01/05/2017 In the event the maximum number of entries is exceeded during this registration time, a draw will be made.

A handler working more than one dog in the same class must ensure that the dogs compete in the sequence in which they are drawn (according to catalogue). Failure to

do so may result in elimination.

Dogs must be handled by the same handler throughout the whole event. It is not allowed to switch handler during the event.

Please, don't forget we are guests at Rutland Showground and we kindly ask you to show respect to their rules and regulations, other campers and guests.

Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and

whilst at KC licensed events.

When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.

If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.

The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to drink.

Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.

At the show, your dog is vulnerable and at risk if left in a vehicle in high temperatures.

Keep the dog in the shade – take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.

Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time.

Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog’s welfare.

Warning: if your dog is found to be at risk, forcible entry to your vehicle may be necessary without liability for any damage caused.

Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s

health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the General Committee for

disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations.

Official BCC 2017 T-shirts can be purchased when you enter the competition for only £12.50

Please select size (on Entry Form) XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL

In case of cancellation of the show within 7 days of the show date, notification will be sent to the relevant web sites

and posted on applicable facebook groups where possible. It will be the competitor's responsibility to check with

these services if continuation of the show is in doubt
