OUR STORY“It’s amazing that seven years at TRC have passed already and what started as a small business has grown rapidly into an international company. A lot has evolved here, but our true passion remains in creating unique designs, and offering the market place a variety of rugs that you won’t find anywhere else.

Our exclusive rugs are all designed in Australia and handmade by artisans in India. We regularly visit our production houses, working closely with the experienced crafters who have been dying yarns and expertly weaving handmade rugs for generations. All our pieces are of the highest quality, embrace fair trade practices and are handmade in New Zealand wool, wool blend and artsilk.

Alongside our own designs, The Rug Collection has also had a lot of fun collaborating with some of Australia’s most recognised artists and designers. These include JAMIE DURIE, SHAYNNA BLAZE, NICOLA CERINI, KAS AUSTRALIA, the JULU WAJAAR Indigenous collection and DESERT DESIGNS by Jimmy Pike.

In addition to this, we also offer a fantastic custom made program with which you can create a rug to your required size, design, colour, shape and texture. Our custom program is also available in a great range of flatweaves and a heavy duty commercial quality.

A collaborative collection with Australian Indigenous artists; Chris (Wirrimbi-Oak) Edwards, Dr Fabri Blacklock and Vincent Forrester.

This collection is called “Julu Wajaar” (One Earth in the Gumbaynggir language). The designs encompass features and stories of indigenous heritage and culture that move from the coast through to the Australian desert. Each rug is adapted from an original painting or developed in conjunction with the artist.

TRC CUSTOMWhile our Designer and TRC stock collections are extensive if you are looking for something a little more specific for your project our custom program allows you to create a one off piece that suits all your needs. From picking colours to match your paint or creating a specific design to coordinate with your linen, to modifying a design to the perfect size we can help you make a masterpiece for your project.


1. DESIGN

Choose from the catalogue of stock designs or request the development of your own unique creation. This can include patterns to coordinate with specific fabrics or motifs to highlight a particular theme. We will work closely with you to come up with the perfect design that complements your project.

THE CUSTOM PROCESSOur expert TRC team make the design process simple. From looking through your inspirations and ideas to develop design concepts or helping to match your colour swatches, the team will work directly with you throughout the project and ensure that your ideas comes to life.

2. QUALITY

Our selection of designer rugs come in a variety of qualities and construction types– flatweave, hand tufted and commercial quality. Our team will help make sure your design is best suited to your needs by ensuring the best quality choice for your project.

3. TEXTURE

Mix and match a range of textures with 100% wool and artsilk – in cut, loop or varying pile height combinations. You can even carve sections of you rug to create focal points and depth.

4. COLOUR

Once you have finalised your design you can take your pick from our extensive range of colours, with everything from soft neutral shades to bright, dramatic tones that make it easy to colour match any job.

5. SIZE

Once your design and colours have been finalised it is time to determine the size and shape of your rug. Make it square or rectangular; or make the perfect hallway runner to fit your entryway or perhaps a circle rug for the centrepiece of the room.

6. DELIVERY

Our design team will provide you with the artwork for approval, and once signed and confirmed, your order will be recreated by skilled rug craftsmen to produce an original, high quality hand tufted rug in approximately 8-10 weeks.

TRC CUSTOM


All TRC rugs are handmade with the greatest care and to the highest quality. To ensure your rug lasts follow the below steps to extend the longevity and continued quality of your product.

1. Vacuum regularly.

2. Clean spills and spots immediately.

3. Get your rug professionally cleaned every year.

RUG CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS:

SHEDDING: Often new rugs begin to produce fluff as a result of loose fibres that remain in the rug after the manufacturing process. Vacuum regularly and this will reduce over time.

SPROUTING: Occasionally loose yarn ends will rise above the pile surface. This is a characteristic of this particular weave. Strands can be safely trimmed to the surface when this occurs with a pair of sharp scissors.

SHADING: All cut pile rugs are susceptible to exhibit characteristics of shading over time. This is the result of the reversal of pile direction during use causing areas of the rug to appear to have changed colour. This effect is not a manufacturing fault nor can it be prevented.

CLEANING STEPS:

1. Scoop up solids.2. Blot out as much liquid as possible.3. Clean with appropriate cleaning agents. Ensure

you never apply detergent directly to carpet.4. Blot dry or use a cold air fan.5. Do not rub or scrub rugs as it can cause

permanent pile disruption.

CLEANING TIPS:

Clean spills immediately. Never rub a spill, instead blot any liquids with a dry absorbent white cloth or white paper towel. Some stains may be cleaned with a mild clear detergent and lukewarm water. If the stain cannot be removed, seek specialist advice. Do not machine wash.
