Isakson...

Paychecks will be a bit lower this

year but it has nothing to do with Congress;

a two percent tax holiday has expired. Sena-

tor Isakson voted against an extension but

supports a lower tax rate for a higher tax

base.

About the national debt, he said, “Debt

isn’t necessarily evil.” His common-sense

plan is to stop spending more than we bring

in and to encourage the private sector econ-

omy.

Senator Isakson supports the GOP

stance of cutting entitlements and benefits.

“Paul Ryan was right about a lot of thing.”

By changing eligibility, programs such

as Social Security and Medicare would be

strengthened. “You paid for it; you deserve

to have it,” he said. “We can save it.”

Asked about President Obama’s cabi-

net picks, Senator Isakson expressed his

support for John Kerry. “He is qualified to be

Secretary of State.” The senator approved of

Hillary Clinton’s job in that post.

“I know exactly what the

American people are going

through, Senator Isakson re-

sponded when questioned about

Congress’ ability to identify with

small business owners.

Calling mental health the

‘common thread’ that runs

through gun violence, the senator

is working on a registry to halt

mass shootings.

Senator Isakson closed with,

“We must decrease debt.”

L-R: Senator Isakson

with Mayor Evie McNiece

L-R: Mike McDougald and Senator Isakson

“You paid for it; you de-

serve to have it.”
