What’s happening in the Mobile WiMAX (802.16e-2005) Optimization market?
Increasing Interoperability Testing (IOT) NEMS are testing with more devices
• Increases the number of potential WiMAX devices that can be used to test the Service
• Every Chipset has a different interface – Requires careful investment before adding
• Each Chipset provides different level of engineering data – Must choose wisely
• Next Generation of Chipsets are now appearing and the Cycle is starting again
Page 6
Acknowledged requirement to have WiMAX Receiver Measurements(not just a Commercial CPE Device for phone measurements)
• Phone reporting rates not frequent enough – inherent in how WiMAX functions
• Developers, NEMS, Operators all want an independent perspective.
In this environment of change, Agilent Drive Test continues to evolve to meet the needs

What’s happening in the LTE Optimization market?
Chipsets are Maturing to meet 3GPP standards
Increasing amount of Interoperability Testing (IOT)
NEMS are testing with more devices
• Increases the number of potential LTE devices that can be used to test the Service
• Every Chipset has a different interface – Requires careful investment before adding
• Each Chipset provides different level of engineering data – Must choose wisely
• First Generation likely to be LTE only or LTE and one technology based on WiMAX Experiences
Page 10
• First Generation likely to be LTE only or LTE and one technology based on WiMAX Experiences
Band Clearing is required for new LTE bands , Enhanced Geo-Coded Spectrum Analysis capability is needed for Trials and Deployments
Expect LTE Receiver Measurements required base on WiMAX experiences (not just a Commercial UE Device for phone measurements)
• Phone reporting rates not frequent enough – Inherent in how LTE functions
• Developers, NEMS, Operators all want an independent perspective.
