89% of the teachers think students should strengthen related knowledge and abilities of their interests in their spare time.

All of the teachers think students should plan and choose the right school according to personal interests and expertise when participating in the High School Joint Academic Capability Exam.

There are still some obstacles students will face — Not able to make a decision in such an early stage(46%) — Without getting parents’ agreement(28%) — The pressure caused by departing from traditional

educational path (25%)

73% of the teachers thinks the stage of senior high school is the best time for planning one’s career.

The experience of the surveyed teachers

According to the teachers’ own experience, 81% of the teachers planned their future early in their school time.

54% of them thought over this issue in the stage of senior high school, and 48% of them made career decisions to be teachers in the stage of university.

However, the teachers still suggest that it should better for us

to find out earlier what we want to be in the future. We should get a better understanding about the

personal interests and abilities for our career decision.

Comparison with relevant studies

The conclusions of “A Survey of Junior High School Student Preference to High School and its Related Factors”

When choosing High School, the factors junior high school students should put into consideration are “the future labor market” and “personal interests.”

The factors that affect decisions making by junior high school students are:— “personal factors- personal performance and interests“— “family factors- the parents’ expectations and family background”— “school factors- peer group opinions”— “social factors- the future labor market”
