THE RESIDENTIAL HUB
Using urban analysis and site context my peer and I developed a housing
development that acts as a hub for it ’s surrounding cites. At the intersection
of three main transit axis and five large cities, our multi-use space acts as a
point of connection, a passage to and from and a destination.

A “hub” is defined as the effective center of an activicty, region or network. Our residential hub is at the intersection of Boston, Cambridge, Allston, Brookline and The Fenway/Kenmore area. It is a destination, an area to circle around, a point to go in and out of and a location to go through. Through out Boston there are many networks of transit and centers of activity, including; The Seaport, The Financial District, and The Prudential Center.
Within the multi-use program, the apartment complex is home to Boston college students and families as well as retail along Commonwealth Avenue and a performing arts center that encloses a circular courtyard.
