Dear Colleague,Welcome to The Radiation Oncology Summit: ACRO 2018! You may have noticed that the meeting has a new name, and the reason is simple. ACRO’s annual meeting has always been about what helps radiation oncologists; that’s why this meeting offers up to 9 SA-CMEs as well as a low stress program that allows time to learn and chat with other radoncs. This is the conference for knowledge about our medical specialty that radiation oncologists can take home and use after spending a few days at a gorgeous location. A summit is a meeting where the top people in a field gather together to learn from each other and improve their specialty. Our attendees make this more than just a meeting; that’s why it is now called The Radiation Oncology Summit.

The scientific program theme this year is “Break Through to Excellence”. As our patients and practices change, we’ve created a program aimed at giving you the knowledge and connections to grow professionally, see and hear the latest best practices in the field, and meet both familiar and new faces.

Many aspects of the meeting will remain the same, such as a low-stress approach to CME. There is no rushing around to get from one short presentation to another; all sessions are in the same room and the right length to allow ample time for each speaker to explore a subject. We are optimistic this will be the best ACRO annual meeting yet, so enjoy The Radiation Oncology Summit: ACRO 2018.

Warm regards,

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of the conference attendees should be able to

1. Implement the latest scientific advances into evidence based standards of care in radiation oncology.

2. Demonstrate competence in billing and coding for radiation oncology treatment in the face of increased governmental regulation and financial cuts.

3. Evaluate the treatment of acute and long-term complications of radiation therapy for Breast, Central Nervous System, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Gynecological, Head and Neck, Lung, Lymphoma, and Skin Malignancies in order to improve patient outcomes.

4. Describe and apply state of the art treatment management for Breast, Central Nervous System, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Gynecological, Head and Neck, Lung, Lymphoma, and Skin Malignancies.

5. Interpret the changing political, economic, and regulatory health care environment in order to survive the year ahead.

6. Link clinical practice updates to address clinical controversies in tumor boards and grand rounds.
