Caitlin Cisler, SopranoSunday, July 29 Ms Cisler, from Appleton, WI, now making her home in Missoula, made her professional debut headlining as Cunegonde in Candide with Four Seasons Theatre in Madison. Praised for her “breathtaking range of voice”, she has performed with opera hous-es across the nation and most recent-ly with the Great Falls Symphony as the soprano soloist for Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. Ms. Cisler will be joined by award winning musicians, composer and pianist Scott Gendel and saxophonist Jesse Dochnahl.
Craig Hall and Erik Olson with Kearen Samsel and Lori Marx Sunday, July 8thCraig Hall and Erik Olson, two pillars of the jazz community in Montana and Wyoming, are sure to treat you to a per-formance as varied as the western landscape. Guitarist Craig Hall has been a fixture in the jazz scene in Bozeman for over 30 years. He has per-formed with well known MT jazz legends like Jeni Fleming and Eden Atwood. Erik Olson on keyboards has proven an exciting new addition to the Billings, MT music scene. They will be joined by Kearen Samsel and Lori Marx, Craig Hall’s classical guitar stu-dents from Bozeman.
The Queen City BandSunday, June 24thUnder the direction of Nancy Trudell, this 10-piece Helena based band draws from the works of the great composers of the 30s, 40s & 50s. They will warm the June evening and your heart with familiar tunes.
Band members: Spencer Bartow - Trombone, Heather Bell - Alto, Sax & clarinet, Shaun Deola - Trumpet, Rick Garrison - Trumpet, Marie McAlear - Alto Sax & clarinet, Kaye Poson - Tenor Sax, Wally Stromberg - String bass, Bob Summerer - Tenor Sax & clarinet, Ken Taylor - Percussion and Donna Turcott - Piano
Montana Chamber Music Society with Muir Members & GuestsSunday, July 15th Back for their 25th season to perform chamber music gems. The Grammy-winning Muir Quartet will premier an original composition written by violinist and composer Jessie Montgomery. This piece was commissioned by Dianne Kimball, a former Butte resident.
Ms. Montgomery will be joined by Peter Zazofsky, Steven Ansell, Lucia Lin, Michael Reynolds, Michele Levin, Ilse-Mari Lee, and Brant Bayless.
Wilbur Rehmann JazzSunday, August 12th Rounding out our 2018 season will be a Montana favorite. Band leader, Wilbur Rehmann, dazzles on the saxophone. His clean sound on alto is reminiscent of Paul Desmond but his big, full sound on tenor is as gutsy as Ben Webster or Coleman Haw-kins. Mr. Rehmann is an original and cre-ates music influenced by the high moun-tains and open plains of Montana. He has performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Arnett Cobb, the Big Sky Mudflaps and M.J. Williams.
