To raise the status of teaching and enable free movement of teachers in the Caribbean Region

To attract high achievers to join and remain in the teaching profession

Promoting teaching as a profession by:

•developing strategies for attracting and retaining suitably qualified persons

•developing a marketing and information package on careers in teaching

•promoting a teacher career awareness programme at all levels of the system

•developing guidelines for recruitment and initial professional education of career changers

•organizing lectures, and conferences related to teaching and learning

•publishing newsletters, research reports,

maintaining a web site
