“Gender Budgeting in Ukraine” Project is carried out for the support purposes of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine in course of implementation of the gender responsive budgeting (GRB) in Ukraine and is financially supported by the Government of Sweden.

The general approach of the Project is based on the best international practices and envisages testing of GRB activities at the level of pilot ministries and oblasts, as well as making the required amendments in budget documents.

Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) is a tool that aims at integrating gender perspectives in the budgeting process. It should be viewed as an important element of development of budgets of different levels, which provides comprehensive information to specialists making decisions about allocation of budget funds.

Stage 1. The initial work on the implementation of gender responsive budgeting (2014-2015)

The working groups were created in pilot sectoral ministries and regions

The improvement of the potential of the employees of the Ukrainian Finance Ministry and all key budget spending units, related to the integration of gender responsive budgeting when using the management by objective

The integration of gender responsive budgeting into the teaching and learning process of higher educational institutions, including the centers for the professional advancement of government officials and local self-government officials

The sustainable provision of competent gender responsive budgeting practitioners
