Dear Parents,
I hope that you all had a wonderful
winter holiday. We look forward to
working with you this semester to
approach the New Year with
purpose for our students.
Congratulations to all our students
who have maintained exceptional
grades and conduct first semester.
Students will be recognized for
achievement at our awards
ceremony at the end of the school
year for semesters 1 and 2.
Congratulations to Rayna Daniher
for being selected to participate in
the All-State Honors Orchestra and
to Angelica Rosado for being
selected to participate in All-State
Honors Band on January 11th.
Congratulations also to all of our 14
students whom were selected to
participate in All-County Chorus,
Orchestra, or Band at The King
Center in Melbourne. The
performances on Saturday, January
25th were top-notch performances
and our Generals really shined.
Congratulations and thank you to
Ms. Reetz, Ms. Doyle, and Mrs.
Sperr for their unending dedication
to our music programs!
This February we look forward to
continuing this momentum with a
calendar full of activities to help our
students learn, grow, and develop.
We are gearing up for FSA
assessments. Our 7th and 8th grade
students will take the writing
portion of the FSA on April 1st this
year. The FSA’s, the 8th grade
Florida State Science Assessment,
and EOC’s for Algebra, Geometry
and Civics are quickly approaching.
The testing window begins on May
1st through May 28th. Please check
our web-site on a regular basis to
find out what specific assessments
your child will be taking and when.
There will also be reminders though
Blackboard Connect calls and
emails. If you have any questions
regarding the testing process, please
call our front office. It is important
that you are well well-informed of
the testing schedule and that we
answer any questions that you may
have. Please encourage your
students to begin practicing on the
FSA web-site as much as possible.
The practice site can be found on
our school’s web-site. In addition,
our teachers are available for help
sessions before school.
We will celebrate professionals on
February 14th with Tied Together
and career exploration for all
students. Our 7th grade boys will
attend Tied Together where they
will meet professional men, learn to
tie ties, and other valuable soft
skills. All students will participate
in career exploration and we are still
looking for volunteers to share
careers with students. If you are
interested or know someone,
contact Laura Moxley at AJMS.
Also on February 14th & 15th is
Science Fair at Merritt Square Mall
and Band solo & ensemble at Viera
HS. Good luck to our participating
students!
Track season has already begun.
Jackson will host four track meets
this year since our track has been
repaired and refreshed! Check the
