Also have been invited to talk to the NSW Southern Motoring Associaon meeng in Yass on 16 th March. Main aim will be to bring some of the new clubs up to speed on the procedures for CVS applicaons. We’re geng a lot of incorrect forms sent through so hopefully this will help smooth things out. A lot of issues coming up with RMS which we will have to get sorted this year, so I have been in contact with the folks I normally deal with to ensure that they do not leave things to the last minute. This enthusiasc group have big plans for a Document and Research Centre to be established in the disused office building at Syd- ney Motor Sport Park (SMSP). The idea being to house many collecons of books, magazines, service manuals, artwork, photographs etc which folks have collected and now want them to find a good safe home before they are no longer around to protect them. I t will be a resource for all clubs, students and researchers to tap into and gain the informaon they need for projects and the like. What the AMHF needs right now is financial support to start up and begin operang at SMSP. If you have read the booklet that was handed out and think that the concept has merit then maybe you would like to suggest to your club that some monetary sup- port would be a good idea. There will be benefits for clubs which become foundaon donors. If you or your club wish to contribute please contact me via the CMC and I will provide the connecons needed. PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Welcome everyone to the start of another year in the CMC, which continues to grow. We start this year with a record number of Clubs and more lining up to join. Sorry to say there are a few Clubs that are yet to renew Affiliation, so just a reminder to those Clubs that their CMC Membership will lapse if payment is not made by 31st March 2019. If any of these Clubs have vehicles on CVS, then they are in default as they need to have renewed CMC Affiliation by 31/12/18 for those CVS vehicles to be covered into 2019. Those vehicles are effectively unregistered, so act now!!

We welcome John Dunlop to the CMC team. John has volunteered to assist with Minute Taking. He is a member of the Cadillac Club.

I will be heading down to Gerringong on 16th February for the Lions Club Motor show. A relative of ours is one of the organizers and I like to support the event. Great mix of vehicles last year and as usual, when you get out of Sydney you see some that are not familiar to you. The south coast is a great place to visit and we really enjoy getting out of town.

Also have been invited to talk to the NSW Southern Motoring Association meeting in Yass on 16th March. Main aim will be to bring some of the new clubs up to speed on the procedures for CVS applications. We’re getting a lot of incorrect forms sent through so hopefully this will help smooth things out.

A lot of issues coming up with RMS which we will have to get sorted this year, so I have been in contact with the folks I normally deal with to ensure that they do not leave things to the last minute.

We handed out a number of booklets about the Australian Motor Heritage Foundation (AMHF) at the last CMC General Meeting. This enthusiastic group have big plans for a Document and Research Centre to be established in the disused office building at Syd-ney Motor Sport Park (SMSP). The idea being to house many collections of books, magazines, service manuals, artwork, photographs etc which folks have collected and now want them to find a good safe home before they are no longer around to protect them. I t will be a resource for all clubs, students and researchers to tap into and gain the information they need for projects and the like.

What the AMHF needs right now is financial support to start up and begin operating at SMSP. If you have read the booklet that was handed out and think that the concept has merit then maybe you would like to suggest to your club that some monetary sup-port would be a good idea. There will be benefits for clubs which become foundation donors.

If you or your club wish to contribute please contact me via the CMC and I will provide the connections needed. Any amount will be gratefully accepted.

Gerringong Motor Fest

16th February 2019

Michael Cronin Oval

Gerringong Lions Club will be holding its annual Motor Fest/ Car Show on Saturday 16th February

2019 on Michael Cronin Oval Blackwood Street Gerringong.

The Lions Club Gerringong is a not for profit organisation and all funds raised from this event will

be provided directly to a Cancer Research Project (TBA naming rights currently under discus-

sion).

This initial contact is to advise your club and determine if your club members may have an inter-

est in participating in this car display day. We will be limited by numbers of participating vehicles,

thought to be a maximum of 250-300 vehicles.

About The Event

This year again our intention is to invite along the specifically collectable, performance and exot-

ic vehicles both old and new. Prizes will be provided to vehicles in each category. Depending

on the initial interest from car clubs and car groups we may this year for the first time make a

theme of the event, I will wait until I hear back from clubs who are planning to support the event

before deciding. In any case every vehicle club and vehicle type will be welcome.

We have allocated lots of room around each vehicle to ensure those participating can feel safe

in knowing that there vehicle is safe whilst parked. Entry for participating vehicles for driver and

passenger is only $5 each to the vehicle participant/club member. A small charge of $5 will ap-

ply for all other people including the general public. Any additional donations would be most

welcome for a very important cause.

For your club members interest this event will be held on what is Gerringong's monthly market day

in the centre of town (about 300 metres away) so will provide an excellent opportunity for mem-

bers and partners to enjoy the hospitality of this wonderful seaside township.

This year like previous years we anticipate a healthy interest in this forthcoming event, hence the

advice to you so early. Many thanks to you and your motoring enthusiast members.
